I e-mailed Activision and asked for a refund because they aren't delivering a hack free server. They requested me to run DXDIAG and send them the files.. I did that and now they want me to Verify the integrity of my games files in Steam.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you contact them? What email address? I've been wanting to do the same thing, $60 for a game full of aimbots and wallhacks is unacceptable!

Went to support page and started from there. Also I know that a lot of people on the Steam Forums been reporting Activision to the BBB Online. . :)

WOW, I bet they are right on the downloadable content too, the PC guys have unlocked it.. You know its just sad to have the most anticipated game of this year, release and suck this hard due to how the developer is handling it.

Heh, this IWNet thing is now getting ridiculous. People are reporting that they receive viruses through some of the servers, as a result of the P2P nature and open ports.

Funny, but even funnier if this is actually true.

Yet still no reports from the big players websites.. You have to dig deep into the depth of the internet to find anything remotely calling out IW..

That's because the big players have wads of cash in their pockets that they just 'happen to find.' Either that or they have a "fair and balanced" mindset.

I'm a PC gamer, I didn't buy this game, mainly because of how hyppy it has been and it doesn't look all that different from its first. I'm just ganna wait for Battlefield Bad Company 2, which looks better than Crysis.

And it's a bad idea for game companies to simply look away from the PC gaming community, if rest follow suit then you'll just see more hacking communities start dedicating to raping consoles.

I also have a 360, but I also don't have enough to shell out 30bucks a month

^30 bucks a month? What are you on?

Its $50 for a year, so $3-3.50 a month. Or 3 months for $20(6.50/month).

So yeah wow.

Im a PC gamer and WILL NOT support activison for this screw up of a choice. Stupid idiots whoever decided to take out the dedicated support.

lol I was going to say the same thing.. Where in the heck did the $30 bucks a month come from. You can get an entire year for $49.99 !!

I agree with you on the dedicated servers, and thats why I did not purchase it for PC, but I DID get it for xbox, which in a sense doesn't really help the PC case I guess.

Yeah my bad I was thinking back in time when dinosaurs ruled the earth.

Another thought is my games look better on my PC than my xbox. I don't know why I should settle for the lessor.

While I do agree games look better on PC, my problem is developers are now trying to just port everything over to PC from consoles, so its pointless. On top of having to buy the latest and greatest PC hardware every 6months to a year. I honestly would rather just use my PC for reading neowin :p and emails, etc ALONG with using it to play MMORPG's since devs haven't figured out a way to make WOW play on consoles yet :)

There will always be great communities for PC gamers. There has never ever been a good RTS on the console, I cannot forsee that ever happening. MMOS probably wont either.

Most Xboxes will Red Ring if someone left their MMO on that long ;) Plus Xbox Live + MMO subscription + Broadband sounds like a ripoff. At least on the PC you only have to pay broadbrand and the MMO subscription.

^ Stay on topic. Red ring is totally different from gaming on xbox and pc.

Anyway, @Spysix of course I understand what you mean by that. I am the same way. PC games look 10X better then 360 or PS3.

Thats a fact because we put so much money into our rigs. Hell borderlands looks 13616516 times better then me playing it on my 360 via 1080p.

So yeah its understandable what you mean, but sometimes you just have to say **** it and go the other way if you have another option thats what I did and i did not yet regret what i did.

@Smeltn: DO IT NAOOO. Its an awesome game. First "RPG" i ever played in my life that I loved. More RPS's ftw.

On top of having to buy the latest and greatest PC hardware every 6months to a year.

No, these times are looong gone, my PC is over three years old, early last year I only bought more RAM ($40) and a new graphics card ($150) and I can still play the latest games with the highest settings smoothly. Seriously, the "buy new hardware every few months"-shtick is outdated and you can get great upgrades for small money.

The worst part of PC gaming is reading all the chatter from people who can't formulate complete and concise ideas. They also make up new meanings for words with no regard as to whether or not it makes sense to base it of said word. For example:saying they got "ninja'd" in which they mean somebody took something from them in a very overt and forceful manner which is nothing like a ninja. Hey, I got Godzilla'd which means an enemy dropped some money because, you know, Godzilla always does that.

    • What they really need to do is automatically spell "loses" and "lose" correctly since nobody seems to know how to anymore. Then they blame spellcheck/autocomplete and don't realize autocomplete is just filling in the word for them automatically so it was misspelled in the first place.
    • If someone chooses to continue using SB and therefore goes through the manual intervention in the thread, afterwards the BSOD problem is gone. Whether they then re-enable the task doesn't matter, they're done, though on such machines it might pay to keep it disabled in case the next update (if there is a next) causes the same problem. OTOH, if someone disables SB in the BIOS, the problem is also gone. Incidentally, I noticed that this task exists even on machines that don't support SB. It's just installed across the board...and runs. Doing what on such machines is a little hazy.
