Modern Warfare 2 wallhacks already released

iw will change one byte of code in the next patch and their happy time will be over..hackers will not have much fun trying to keep up with exploits in this game....i paid my 59 bucks and have to say that you get your moneys worth by buying the game...heck i have paid more money for bad food and service before so ppl need to quit whining...at least give it a try before you crap on it!

Pretty sure I read that someone "hacked" the console back in - sounds like it was just disabled through a config or the like.

It's not really a hack but, the ability for the exploits is coded into the game, it's not 3rd party. All people were doing was exploiting the commands IW use for debugging.

Hence why it was patched quickly and stopped with no way for it to be done again. The whole thing was blown out of proportion with people trying to claim this was the start of PC like hacks for the PS3... until the 360 was affected a few days later  Oh that was a fun day :p Regardless, easily sorted by IW.

Where as cheating on the PC is a never ending cycle of updating VAC to catch new cheats, as cheats on the PC are 3rd party applications usually, applications which modify memory allocations/hook into the executable. None of that can be done on a console.

That's why IW saying they were cracking down on cheating by removing dedicated servers was a lol, all they're doing is ditching Punkbuster in favour of using the more efficient but still flawed VAC.

The best way to combat cheating on the PC is to find a handful of dedicated servers with regular players you get to play with that often you know they are legit. Plus there's still VAC protecting you, and if you're on a widely known and respectable server, most likely admins that can be called to at least server ban griefers. I believe the likes of Multiplay/Jolt/Wireplay have admins you can call into a game or submit evidence to. Then there's also the votekick ability to get a player chucked by other players.

IW have crippled all those abilities essentially meaning their game is probably worse off for cheating than any better at all

I have never seen the value of these "hacks". I don't see how it's fun, or a good use of time, to sit there in God mode and not have a challenge. This video is exactly why PC gaming - multiplayer anyway - left my heart years ago.

lol  You're cute and funny.

Some people just get a kick out of annoying others.

See this is the point, VAC won't instantly ban those who hack, it'll just take a log of whoever is using that hack, looks for similar users of that hack, and then issues a massive ban wave. Not only this, but a VAC ban means you will be banned from MP on MW2, as well as playing all other Valve games (See CS:S, TF2, HL2:DM and more).

I know it's still early, but what exactly is the issue in this video? There's a guy killing other guys, looks like standard MP to me.

And I was going to buy MW2 for PC. I guess I'll stick with my Xbox 360 copy...

Personally I think that's a good thing. Once a cheat always a cheat. These losers need to be removed from gaming to stop them from spoiling the experience for the good of normal gamers. IW have just made their game a cheater's haven by not allowing dedicated servers.

And PC gamers think they're being cheated by IW

It's your cheating PC-playing colleagues who are cheating you, ultimately.

Do even play PC games? If you are running a dedicated server it is very easy to ban hackers, much easier than it is to make the game hack proof. Back in the CS days when hacking was at it's worst you could still find good games thanks to good server moderation. Inifinity Ward thinks they can moderate the entire player base at once rather than letting the community moderate itself.

Actually if you talk to hackers one thing they seem to really enjoy is finding new hacks everytime the developer tries to stop them.

That's why I stopped playing UT. Last game I played, some guy was spawning in invisible and staying invisible the whole game and had the redeemer 100% of the time (in a map that didn't have super weapons). The server admins were laughing at everyone and the cheater was boasting how everyone was green as he was also running a radar mod.

They are pathetic losers.

This is only the start. Hackers IMO want to ruin this game as much as humanly possible just to stick it to IW and Activision even more so than usual, but do not realize they are destroying the good time for the people who actually want to play it and just enjoy it.

How come nobody such as Neowin, IGN, and all the other gaming sites called IW out on this? I think it ridiculous that IWNet is suppose to stop this and there is proof that it doesn't. BTW if you host a public server you can "Kick" people from your own server.

Nope.

Only cheating you'll see on PS3/360 will be through glitches, and glitches are easily patched.

You can't run unsigned code/applications on consoles so therefore there will be no wallhacks/aimbots.

My jaw dropped when I read this, I can't believe someone would be so utterly clueless.

If you're talking to me, then you better be about to unleash links to those aimbots and wallhacks for my PS3/360 if you want to avoid embarrassment.

    • But it opens the floodgates to anyone who gets a refund instead of a replacement (since refund will buy you a 1/3rd of the capacity it did years ago)

    • Windows Server gets DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support by Usama Jawad For the past few months, Microsoft has been previewing DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for Windows DNS Server, touting it as a foundational upgrade for zero-trust enterprise networks. It essentially introduces encrypted, authenticated DNS for the networks rather than transmitting DNS traffic in clear. Now, the company has introduced the general availability (GA) of this feature. The GA of DoH encourages organizations to deploy the solution in production environments without implementing a new client-to-resolver architecture. DoH helps improve the overall security of the network and reduces the risk of spoofing due to its zero-trust design. This is a significant change because pretty much every interaction with the network requires interfacing with DNS. DoH offers several advantages over standard DNS traffic, such as encryption using HTTPS, preventing unauthorized inspection, man-in-the-middle attacks, and traffic analysis. Since it leverages TLS certificates so that clients can verify the identity of the DNS server, it prevents spoofing through this authentication mechanism. Additionally, it's built on the DoH standard defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which means that it should work with modern RFC 8484-compliant clients. Finally, it integrates into the existing network architecture seamlessly and can even run in parallel with standard DNS, so that customers can migrate to the new technology at their own pace. Microsoft says that in the past few months of preview, DoH has become more stable, and customers can confidently deploy it in production environments with proper guidance. Microsoft has emphasized that migrating to DoH is necessary for organizations that are moving toward zero-trust DNS solutions. Windows clients already support DoH, but the latest availability on Windows Server provides encrypted DNS to all endpoints. The company has also mentioned that "while this release focuses on encrypting client-to-resolver communication, support for encrypted communication between Windows DNS Server and upstream DNS resolvers is planned for a future update." You can follow Microsoft's guidance to deploy DoH here, but keep in mind that you need a Windows Server 2025 installation with the latest Patch Tuesday updates installed.
    • Lol I had one of these turn faulty in Jan, guess it wasn't just bad luck lol
    • I'm team Rossmann all the way. I have the exact same NVME, altough not in an array like him.
