Best (City) Skyline You've Seen?

I haven't seen many city skylines. I guess of those that I have seen, my favourite would be seeing the Berlin skyline at night from the Fernsehturm.

Hamburg is beautiful, no doubt, but it lacks a certain phallicness that comes with big skyscrapers.

Then again you know what they say about men and performance vehicles... the same thing could be in play.

Personally I prefer the low-profile Hamburg skyline.

My vote goes to Singapore... if not the prettiest skyline (which in my view it is, seen from a little window in the plane) definitely the cleanest city I have ever been to and home to my parents in law's family...

The only use tall buildings really have is their cognitive mapping of a city, apart from that they are merely blights on the world, and Dubai is the pure essence of the most ridiculous monstrosity the world has ever created.

Dubai is just something aiming to be visual and exists purely as a sales brochure. The madness of existing and living within tall buildings is far different to seeing it on a postcard.

For example - the best thing about London is its side streets which accommodate"real life". Not the glorified gherkin.

I love looking at skylines. I've have an obsession with NYC I like dubai as well. I like building pretty much the more the better.

Gotta be Dubai, Singapore or hong kong. New york is wonderful from street level but overall bland as you see it as a whole.

In Rome at Piazza del Poppolo there is a hill you can go up to and the view from up there is awesome, you can see all of Rome! :)
