God of War Collection Review

Recommended Posts

I finished it at 3:10. I died a few times because I thought I was invincible lol. Got all Gorgon Eyes but not the Feathers, I missed 3 but I wasn't looking for all. I rarely used magic.

Now to play God of War 2. :)

I think I'm closer to 4:00, but I got all feathers/eyes, did the Muse Keys room, etc., and once I knew I had it, I stopped skipping and enjoyed dishing out the asswhipping.

Check that, 3:48.

Tempted to order this from Amazon and get it delivered to my parents in Florida just now. Can get it for ?24 plus with prime shipping (I started the free trial to get my headphones from Black Friday).

Does prime work for Amazon UK? If so, keep that, definitely worth it, you can even get a lot of games with guaranteed release-day shipping for free.

soniqstylz, where did you get the 500 hit trophy? I haven't finished GoWII but I have no idea how I'm going to get 500 hit.

Same time I got the 15 fight scene trophy. At the very end of that run, spam Cronos' Rage. I got around 600 hits.

I finished the game (GoW2) and I didn't get the Boss Batch 3 trophy :(

That's been a common glitch. Only real remedy is another playthrough, most people who glitched got it on the 2nd playthrough.

BTW, Kol, start a new game+, use the urns (assuming you got at least two of them) for the gold, then completely upgrade the sword of olympus, and get to a save point. Then start the Challenge of the Titans.

*edit* actually, it shows up that you got that trophy in your collection.

Dammit :( Only that and challenge of the Titans for Platinum. Going to play a second time with all urns on

That was for what? to get the upgrade all weapons magic trophy?

got it, played it loving it. Working on the first one. I just a "getting my ass kicked trophy"... pretty funny. Game actually looks pretty decent, and the updated of the particles effects are nice too. Other then the cut scenes, game actually holds up to some of todays titles.

Definitely worth the 40 bucks.

GoW2 was platinum if it wasn't for the stupid glitch :(

Tip for Challenge 7 in GoW2. Take all skeletons except one and then take the rock thing. After that it is easy to kill the other enemies that spawn.

I wouldn't usually bump an old thread but I bought this game because of this thread after seeing the God of War 3 screenshots and I must say the GoW Collection is an absolute bargain!

I'd heard of the GoW games on the PS2 but never had a chance to play them so I'm glad they re-released them like this. As a big fan of the Prince of Persia series (apart from the disappointing new one), I found it quite similar and easy to get on with, with great gameplay and a great story. I've finished GoW now and just need to complete the Challenge of The Gods and the speedrun for the platinum! As you can't save it when doing the challenges how long did it take everyone to get through them?

I've started GoW2 now but will have to go back to GoW to get the platinum! Both are excellent games and I'm really looking forward to GoW3 now!

Don't complete CotG in #1 before you complete God of War 2... just, trust me on this. GoW 2 has a massive twist at the very end of the game which is very weirdly casually addressed in one of the cutscenes after you beat CotG, making the whole shock reveal in 2 pretty "meh". Thankfully it didn't happen to me, but I can imagine it would have ruined the epicness of the ending for GoW 2 if I did.

Hmm, ok thanks for that. I must be a fair way through GoW2 so will finish it before going back to the first one. I wish you could save your progess on the challenges but I guess that would make it easier.

You can save in Challenge of the Titans in GoW2

Finished GoW2 and the challenges a few days ago and got my first Platinum Trophy! :) Went back and did the challenge of the gods on GoW1 (man some of them are hard!) and I didn't get any cutscene? I've had a look in the treasures section and can't see anything extra that has been unlocked.

No matter, now to do the speed run on GoW1 to get my next platinum trophy! It took me just over 10 hours to complete it the first time round, gonna take some doing to do it in under 5. Bit disappointed you don't start with all your power and magic on bonus play like you do in the second one - it's gonna be harder than I thought!

    • Ignoring the fact that this "colony" kicked the empire of King George's arse during those early years... You are confusing the First Industrial Revolution (which was pulled out of some butt-hurt Brit historian's arse) with the Second Industrial Revolution (aka the Technological Revolution), which transitioned the world from the UK sailing Empire to the USA as a superpower. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution
    • OpenAI announces GPT‑5.6 Sol, its next-generation flagship model beating Claude Mythos 5 by Pradeep Viswanathan Credit: OpenAI OpenAI today announced a limited preview of its new GPT-5.6 model series, which includes the Sol, Terra, and Luna models targeting different price points. GPT-5.6 Sol is the flagship model targeted at demanding reasoning and agentic workloads. GPT-5.6 Terra is positioned as a balanced model for everyday work, featuring performance competitive with GPT-5.5 while being half the cost. GPT-5.6 Luna is the fastest and most affordable model, delivering strong capability at a lower price point. Unlike previous model releases from OpenAI, GPT-5.6 is starting with a limited preview for a small group of trusted partners due to U.S. government restrictions. As expected, OpenAI previewed its plans and the models' capabilities to the U.S. government ahead of launch, and the government asked OpenAI to limit the first wave of access to select partners. OpenAI also mentioned in the official announcement blog post that it does not believe this type of government access process should become the long-term default. OpenAI highlighted that GPT-5.6 Sol comes with a robust safety stack featuring improved protections for higher-risk activity, sensitive cyber requests, and repeated misuse. The company also spent several weeks pressure-testing the system and hardening it against real-world attacks. On the capability side, as expected, GPT-5.6 Sol is OpenAI’s strongest model yet. It delivers better results in agentic performance across coding, biology, and cybersecurity. On the Terminal-Bench 2.1 benchmark, which tests command-line workflows requiring planning, iteration, and tool coordination, GPT-5.6 Sol sets a new record with a score of 91.9%, beating Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5. Additionally, GPT-5.6 introduces a new "max" reasoning effort for even deeper reasoning. The new "ultra" mode uses subagents to accelerate complex work beyond what a single agent can handle. Pricing starts at $5 per million input tokens and $30 per million output tokens for Sol. Terra costs $2.50 for input and $15 for output, while Luna costs $1 for input and $6 for output. GPT-5.6 comes with more predictable prompt caching, including support for explicit cache breakpoints and a 30-minute minimum cache life. Sol will also launch on Cerebras in July at speeds up to 750 tokens per second for select customers. OpenAI plans to make GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna broadly available in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API in the coming weeks.
    • I'm not sure if you are trolling because I saw people saying this with the straight face, but there were no United States of America when industrial revolution started, just United Colonies 🤣 p.s. I'm not British, so I'm not offended.
    • Glad I uninstalled this incredibly buggy browser. Looking at that changelog, they clearly don't test their updates at all.
