Explorer settings

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've recently started using findexer, but ran into a problem. Whenever I use the win+e shortcut, explorer open in normally, except that it keep the folder view open. Which is quite a nuisance.

Likewise when I run explorer.exe it opens my documents with the folder view enabled.

But if I run explorer *location* it opens a new explorer window on the location, but without the folder view pane, as intended sort of.

I currently got around the issue, by having autohotkey direct win+e to explorer ::{20d04fe0-3aea-1069-a2d8-08002b30309d} instead. But that's merely a temporary means, and I don't like having extra applications running in the background when it's not necessary.

Could I ask, where does explorer store the basic settings which I could change to make sure that start explorer and win+e won't display the folder view pane? I presume somewhere in the registry.

Any help is welcomed :)
