iphone battery

despite full discharging/charging the battery on the iphone/touch is fairly weak

I'm interested in purchasing a battery of some sort that can be plugged into the iphone to keep it running for a bit longer

something like this

I heard about the case one however there was a rather bad review showing it overheating and part of the case melting and damaging the back of the iphone so i'll avoid that one

does anyone have any recommendations preferably something they have and had used for a while?

Everywhere I look the 3rd gen iPod Touch is ignored even though it is the same as a 2nd gen's physical dimensions. It looks like a good idea, why not just wait for it to be on sale and wait for reviews. Compare the good/bad reviews ratio and decide whether or not you want to buy it.

I bumped because my last post was completely ignored and i wanted to take advantage of the time as i felt more people would be on rather then let this topic die like the other one and in the end become a useless post for those who find it on google :) (feel free to bump it up for me if you like)

I currently have the iphone 3gs and ipod touch 1st gen(i think..or maybe 2nd not sure)

also the device i mentioned is for sale and a reviewer despised it (for $130 i'd expect no flaws from a simple battery)

has anyone tried an additional battery for the iphone? it doesn't have to be a case battery even one that just plugs in and hangs there

also will need a case that can be used with the battery (e.g. something slim but strong so the extra battery will fit while its on)

Yeah that was the one i heard about in the review

battery performance was weak and under use melted onto the back of the iphone
