Looking for Feedback on Beta Site

Recommended Posts

If a person/business is in need a specific photo or need a photo edited/restored/modified, you can launch a contest with a prize associated. Photographers/Editors/Designers can submit there entries for a chance to win the prize. The contest holder will then pick from the submitted entries.

It's a bit..... plain. There's also no kind of information on the front page about what your site actually does. It assumes visitors will know before they visit, which is not good design.

I think it's quite explicit... There are a bunch of site like this but for logos...

BTW... I just submited 2 pics on the only open contest ;) :)

I want to know one thing, how do you ensure that the submitted entries are not going to be used without/before giving the prize money? A watermarking system?

Also, I would suggest that the footer is at the end of the page without the user having to scroll down to nothing, do you know what I mean? As in, there is no content but the scroll bar is still displayed because of the footer being embedded at a certain point of the page.

An About Us would be great or more so, a small description of the website on the front page.

A register link below the Welcome, Guest | Login, something like New User? Registere here

How do people redeem their prizes?

A Top anchor link at the bottom of the page would also be good.

When someone clicks on a link of a "design", you could have the design displayed within the website or maybe open a new tab rather than having leading the user away from the website.

That's my 2cents for now, if I can think of any other constructive criticism, I'll surely post back.

Cheers and all the best on your venture.

+1 to that.

Thank you for taking the time to post your suggestions. It looks like we need to add some more information on the main page. In regards to the prizes, they will be distributed by us through paypal if the contest is guaranteed. If not, it will be handled between the contest holder and the winner.

Thank you for the input. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm definitely not a web designer (took a semester during Sophomore year of high school  ) , so I can't really offer any technical input... but to me, there seems to be too much white. Probably just a personal thing.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
