I just got the Tritton AX Pros, pretty similar to the 720's. MUCH better than my experiences with Turtle Beach. Much better sound. I actually prefer the wired headset over wireless. Batteries and sound quality are downfalls I didn't want. Absolutely do not get the X1's. They are just stereo sound. The 720's have simulated 5.1 and are very good. I went with the AX pro's from Newegg because they had a coupon code and I got them for $133.

And to fix your HDMI issue all you need is this adapter, it is what I do...

I have my HDMI cable set up and use it for my audio receiver, and I use the above adapter for the optical output that goes into the X3's. No issues at all with both working.

Was thinking about buying some TB's myself but tbh it's nothing that important I can't live without. That and they are ridiculously priced.

Just recently ordered the X41's. I will give them a go and compare them to the Trittons when I get the chance :)

Does anyone know if I can connect the Tritton AX 720's to any old device with a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack? It looks like the Dolby decoder box only has optical input.

Just got the X41's in the mail. I'm going to test them out and then I'll post a review up of them, and compare them to the Tritton's that I got.
