PSN keeps signing out error 8002AD36

Recommended Posts

I was playing MW2 Spec-OPs with a mate when it started happening on Sunday, the thing is I played MW2 on Saturday for 3 hours, then had a break for a few and went back on for another 2 hours with no issues. I've also played online the week before with no issues.

But tonight I can't seem to stay connected for more than 5 mins.

I've disabled media connection, reset router, put PS3 in the DMZ for the router even redone the wireless connection.

Still no help, getting p***ed off!

Any other suggestions??

It might just be because Sony are preparing for an update or something; it signed out for me and out of the MW2 servers so I thought "Oh, it must be update time"...but I was wrong.

This is what my friend told me ages ago though, I don't know if it's true.

How old is your router, and how much interference do you have in the area (neighbors' wireless, cordless phones, microwaves, etc.)

Router is less than 3 months old, I got it when I upgraded to 50MB broadband, its a DLINK DIR-615 not the greatest. But as I said I've not have any problems before, only started on Sunday. There is one other router in the area but its very weak and rarely see it pop up on scan.

Signal strength is about 65-70%, according to the PS3 stats.

Ive got a question about the PS3 actually, why is it that I can never play anything properly online with my router. Its like its incompatible or something.

My router is a Netgear DG834PN (ADSL).

If anyone can help me then I would greatly appreciate it.

Really ****ing me off now!!!!

Lastnight played for about 2 hours online with no issues..Today can't stay logged in for more than 5 mins!

As I said, I have static IP, set that IP to a DMZ in my router, disabled media sharing, changed wireless channels on router. Still getting between 65-70% signal strength.

Running the connection tests everything succeeds, but PSN still signs out, the only thing I noticed was the download speed being very inconsistant and very wrong, between 400k amd 1Mb. I am on a 50Mb connection and from my PC (the one I type from right now) I get 48mb (so good) In the room with my PS3 my iphone over wireless gets 12Mb.

Its driving absolutly f**king mad!!!!

Can this be Sony or my ISP???

hmmm... Quit a few apps running on my comp..steam & Privoxy (actually never use it, now uninstalled) and now it works fine...

Seems quite strange and I would have thought unrelated though. Fingers crossed it keeps on working for you.

I still can't sync trophies, gets to 32% and gives 80077A02 error.

I couldn't sync trophies either these last few days, I just kept trying and eventually it worked. It would get like 5% more done each time, so it remembered where it stopped before it timed out. I also kept mashing X and it seemed to work LOL (prolly not really).

I had connection issues with utorrent running on my main PC, even if I capped both upload and download on it it would disconnect me from my PS3. Turned it off and now wireless on PS3 works as normal.

Trophies are highly irritating. Every time I sync them it gets to 87% and stops, then tells me there's been an error. This is just to sync one trophy. I'm guessing where it gets stuck is where the new trophy is as if I get trophies on another game too that aren't synced it'll stop at 32% like others on here.

I've said it before, but it's highly irritating. They need to sort that out before auto-syncing.

    • too bad the "backend" June 2026 ESD files are still at build 26200.8653 and not at the correct build 26200.8655 release. I'll avoid using the MCT for several weeks until late July 2026
    • Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip brings on-device AI to Android XR devices by Pradeep Viswanathan Qualcomm has been delivering dedicated SoCs for mixed reality and spatial computing devices for several years. The journey started with the Snapdragon XR1, followed by the Snapdragon XR2 in 2019, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 in September 2023, and finally the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 in 2024. Today, Qualcomm announced a major upgrade with the new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, which targets premium mixed reality and spatial computing devices. OEMs can use this SoC to power both all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight, tethered optical-see-through glasses. Qualcomm highlighted that the Snapdragon Reality Elite will power the next wave of Android XR devices coming later this year. These wearables will offer better visuals, improved power efficiency, and deeper on-device AI integration compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can deliver up to 48 TOPS of AI performance, allowing large language models and large vision models to run directly on the device for the first time. In addition to enabling new spatial AI experiences, these new AI capabilities will improve head and hand tracking, as well as see-through features. On the performance side, the Snapdragon Reality Elite offers up to 60% higher GPU performance, up to 30% higher CPU performance, and up to 160% higher NPU performance compared to the previous generation. The platform supports visuals of up to 4.4K per eye at 90 frames per second for sharper images and smoother motion. Qualcomm is also claiming significant efficiency improvements. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can offer up to 20% longer battery life under the same workload. More importantly, the chipset can run up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load, making headsets more comfortable for users to wear for longer periods. The platform also includes improvements to video see-through, featuring lower latency and better image quality. Qualcomm states that its EVA hardware block helps accelerate demanding computer vision workloads, improving how digital content blends with the real world.
    • Umm... GitHub continues to use AWS. That's the story, that's the headline. There's no "new" news here. GitHub continues to require additional capacity beyond the originally-planned Azure allocations. There's nothing special about this; nothing noteworthy. They're still using AWS' infra until the cutover is complete.

    • Hello, I have used a few TEAM Group SSDs, USB flash drives, and Micro SDXC cards in the past. They all seemed to work fine. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
