I use mIRC. It's a great IRC client and, in my opinion, it's fairly easy to use. You can download it here. I suggest going over this guide. Also, be sure to join #neowin (see here for details).

EDIT: I see you've already done most of what I suggested. You could use that IRC plugin if it works. I think mIRC is one of the best looking IRC clients out there. It's one of the reasons I use it.

I on the other hand think mIRC is a terrible client, I much prefer X-Chat. Although X-Chat's UI is also quite terrible, mIRC has a better GUI but I don't use apps based on how pretty they are.

Hmm I looked at X-Chat's interface...and like I said, I'm big on how pretty things look (as long as their competitors have the same features)...does x-chat have something that mIRC doesn't?

I got an error:

I had those both correct.

Are you sure? Use the name you set in the IRC User Control Panel and the password to your Neowin account. It should work. You can use the "/nick" command to set your name in IRC.

    • The level of stupidity at Google and Microsoft is beyond belief. All they are doing by killing this is forcing people to jump over to Firefox and ditch them all together, therefore giving Firefox the market boost it needs to finally crush them all in the end.
