cooky560 Veteran Posted November 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2009 Many shops buy those multipack boxes so they could sell the cans as a full individual item. Many shops here do this. That is why I still see Nutuional info on EACH packet/can that has food in it even if sold as a pack. Doing that is actually illegal... Steven P. Administrators Posted November 20, 2009 Administrators Share Posted November 20, 2009 It would still need a sticker or something to show nutrition info etc.. Hitman2000
wow that can look awesome, even if they decide against making permanent, they should do a special editio nfor a limited time. Im sure the collectors will love it. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/847326-naked-coke-can-concept/page/2/#findComment-591872616 Share on other sites
cooky560 Veteran Posted November 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2009 Indeed, perhaps they can sell them, like they do the coca-cola branded glasses. iamwhoiam
The problem with this design concept is that the technology to make the embossed cans like that would require major modifications to the production line, if it is even possible with current technology. There's a reason you don't see embossed cans like this: the machinery needed would be outrageously complex. Just add the stamper inline before the aluminum gets cuts and rolled? edit: people in the thread there also bring up another valid point. It would be nearly impossible to use this technique for the legally required nutrition information on the cans. It could be solved with a sticker. .KICK
more expensive to make, more material used to make them, less strong. Yup, will never happen ;) Yeah those won't happen as it will quite simply increase manufacturing costs but the naked silver cans with no colours is pretty cool. Midge
Just add the stamper inline before the aluminum gets cuts and rolled? uh, cans arent rolled :/ there stamped out of a sheet, then extruded into a can shape and a top attached. would be too much work to change established production lines. I think there would me more money saved than the money required to make the modifications.
