I need PC Game purchase advice.

Recommended Posts

Those of you who know me, know I'm working on a severely limited fund basis.

I rarely can buy games, and because of this, I'm asking for advice.

I can buy a game tonight.

My choices:

Borderlands.-Some of my friends are playing this on Steam, and I love FPS games and Diablo, Diablo 2 etc type games (see the fact I love Torchlight).

Left For Dead 2- Quite a few of my friends are playing it, but I got tired of playing the first one rather quickly.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - Single player, BUT, have been wanting it for a long, long time.

I do not know what I should get at this current juncture.

I have to keep track of the receipt, so I'll be purchasing it on Steam (as I do all of my games).

Any advice would be fantastic.

Thanks.

Batman: AA and L4D2 have demos available to help you decide. Borderlands apparently doesn't. I haven't tried any of them, but I agree with you on L4D. It seemed cool at first, but I think I played it like 5 times.

I'd try the demo for whatever you're considering on Steam if there's one available then wait a few weeks. I'm almost positive L4D2 and Borderlands will be a weekend deal soon.

Out of those 3 I would get Borderlands. L4D I am exactly like you. It was great for the first day or so, then its dead....

Batman was a great game, BUT it was only Single player fun until you completed it. After that its just like an old DVD...

Borderlands is where its at right now.

I thought L4D2 felt like l4d1 .. just.. more gory. It was nice and all, and I really kinda liked the fact it was .. more .. optimized this time.. it felt like it played better, but it just felt the same.

I can beat Batman:AA's demo without getting hit once I've played it so many times. I -love- that demo. My problems with it are : single player and no replayability. :(

Batman AA: played the demo, unique and nice graphically, but I imagine it would be one of those games that lack any replay value

L4D2: played L4D1 to death, and I'm sure this sequel is more of the same old stuff with different skins and special zombies

Out of those three, Borderlands does seem like your only option. However, once the handicapped MW2 gets cheaper for PC, it might MIGHT be worth buying. Been playing on my roommate's 360 and it is pretty fun (even if 9v9 max)

They gimped MW2 and made it a console port, I'm not all that interested in it.

Out of all of the games out right now, I've listed quite a few that I'm interested in..

I'd get Batman because of how awesome it is, if you loved the animated series, you'll treasure this.

I wouldn't bother with L4D2 if you only played the first for a little bit and thats it. Trust me, its like an expansion than a sequel. And it's very lacking. I call it Left 4 Another Game.

Borderlands if you'll play online, Batman if your just gonna play single player.

Although Borderlands is alot bigger, it gets really samey after not long single player, batman is shorter but more varied so all up I think they both have to same value out of them.

Batman is surely better in almost every way while it lasts though.

And i know this wasn't included in your list, and I hate when people do things like this but...... get Dragon Age!!!! Won't need to buy another game for months unless you really hate rpg's lol.

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
