Dave_teh_Tech
Hello all Ok so here is the low down. I've recently installed Win7 onto a customized pc, and I am unable to find the correct drivers that are compatible with the new OS. I'm missing my Ethernet, Audio and Video drivers for a MSI motherboard model MS-6547. I've searched google and found some sites that have the drivers, but found none that are compatible with Win7. I've tried to instal the Vista and Xp pro chipset with no luck. I even tried a Driver "finder" program, but because i cant get online with the pc I cant use the program! So if anybody out there has any tips or tricks to solving this issue that would be great! +BudMan MVC Posted November 20, 2009 MVC Share Posted November 20, 2009 You sure thats the model number of the motherboard - and is the ethernet onboard or an addon card? Searching for that model number I don't find anything on the MSI site. You get links for the 645 series.. And does not look like any of those have onboard nics? Dave_teh_Tech
No it doesn't have an onborad NIC, but looking under my Device Manager, it's telling me that I don't have the Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller and an "unknown" device that I'm guessing is my Video. I also thought that it was an issue with the type of NIC I was using and tried to get the Drivers for that also, it's a Linksys LNE100TX. And I have the same issue, no compatible drivers for Win7. Srry I should have been a lil more descriptive :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/847712-problems-with-win7-drivers/#findComment-591874762 Share on other sites
Dave_teh_Tech
Oh also if it helps the search, the motherboard is a MSI but it says Micro-Star. But when I made my searches under Micro-star MS-6547 it came up as MSI. npe
Have you try installing those drivers in compatibility mode? 1. Extract/Unzip the driver 2. Open the extracted folder and look for the setup/application file 3. Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program in compatibility mode for: ... 4. Choose Vista or XP (try Vista first, if doesn't work then try XP) 5. Run that setup/application file. This method let me installed all the XP/Vista drivers in Windows 7, but some of them might not function correctly. Hopefully that help. +BudMan MVC Posted November 21, 2009 MVC Share Posted November 21, 2009 (edited) So you have a LNE100TX - what hardware version? 1 or 4? that card is REALLY old -- but I would think windows 7 would have a driver for it out of the box.. If not I don't see any 64 bit drivers for it, not even the v4 version. I don't even see xp drivers. Here I did a google and found these vista 64bit drivers, they should work. http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/linksys/b...;thread.id=1273 LNE100TX Vista 64-bit driver, get it here! Is the video onboard on a addon card as well? If so -- then again open up the box and look at the cards!!
