The Twilight Saga: New Moon Breaks Box Office Records

I don't hate Twilight - but it is kind of pointless. We have become a simple audience and if you love Twilight then I'm sorry but you are easily pleased. There are so many better films out there from the past, ones that actually make you think witness an art.

Most people now days are guided by mainstream culture, its not their fault. Its the money making industry that has developed, and ours for being so simple we all buy into it because we are so bored with our stupid lives. (me included)

I thought twilight was good mainly cus it had a slightly different take on the "rules" of the vampire. Havnt seen the new on yet though but it's probably alright. Tbh there's that many rubbish films that get released you just sit there watch em and take it

it's like " let's do a chic perspective on the whole vampire scene and uhmm....... yeh!... make a bunch of prettiboys run around with sparkly faces ?@! gurr must be pure awesomeness.... vaampires must be kool now" -> I say NO NO NO Dammit.... :p

Do you know what I say? I say nothing grrrr because I'm eating a "power bar" just like Joe would in Family guy!!!

I don't know but I could care less about these movies.

On Wednesday I went to the movies with some friends to see 2012 only to see massive lines of teens that have been waiting for hours there. Because of the premiere, the theater replaced the last 2 showings for 2012 to make more room so more people would see New Moon.

We ended up at my place ordering diner and seeing 9 instead.

On a serious thought, I wonder how can parents let their 12-17 years old kids make such a big thing out of a movie (or a book in this case). I mean, we all have waited for hours and create hype for something like Star Wars or the likes but I saw many girls wear t-shirts and boys with "fancy" haircuts.

Also, I found sad grown-ups wearing costumes for Star wars movies or T-shirts for iPhones (or other massive product releases).

*takes a deep breath now*

I think the Dark Knight is one of the those rare films that did well commercially AND had intellectual layers (like we totally know Batman is George W Bush lol), and that was most likely caused by Heath Ledger's death. It will be a few years until we see something like that happen again (unless Avatar can really blow peoples minds).

I don't know much about Twilight but it seems like it is very successful yet everybody hates it. So who are its fans, exactly? Does it have to do something with this Robert Pattinson kid, who I see absolutely nothing attractive in despite being a man secure enough in his masculinity to admit when another man is handsome? I feel like I may have to watch this thing eventually to get what all the hype is about. Trouble is I have no interest in vampires.

I wonder if anything even happens in this movie. I felt really sorry for the suckers that paid $10 to see the first one where nothing happened at all. By the looks of the ratings of New Moon, it's probably just as lame.

I do admit, I kind of liked the second and fourth books. Either no annoying obsessive love interest, Edward, or only half a book worth of dialogue from Bella.

But, seeing how this movie is panning out, it seems as if Edward is still as prominent, unrelatable and annoying, as usual.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
    • Neowin is saying these are good prices? Thats crazy. As others have said they are just ######. Time for big tech to bring down the prices for real not this fake crap.
    • The iFlyTek AINote 2 is among the thinnest E-Ink tablets. It has an EMR stylus, a built-in fingerprint reader, and plenty of built-in AI features. You had me until "and plenty of built-in AI features." That and any company that still does the iProduct naming trope is an immediate pass. It suggests the company isn't very imaginative or creative and is trying to piggyback off another company's success. Extremely lame. Also kind of expensive. Better choices at lower prices out there.
    • These are not "great" prices... just "less awful". Apparently "Those who forget the past are doomed to pay higher prices and think they've won."
