(needed it for the drivers to install WHS)

I remember the LS120 drive. The university admins were so proud of the new machines with built-in LS120 drives when they equipped the PC labs with them...

... yet everybody only used them as floppy drive. I don't know of a single person who's ever owned a LS120 disk. Instead people would queue up in front of the Windows 98 machine with Zip drive and external SCSI CD burner (2x speed!) to backup larger amounts of data.

Fun times.

I don't miss them either, and I remember the LS120. We had an LS120 drive at home, and on several occasions used the LS120 disks. We may still have them.

I'm amazed there are still places around that sell floppies (or that you could still buy a floppy drive for a new computer a year ago). 1.44MB used to be plenty for just about anything.

Last time I used a floppy disk was about 6 or 7 years ago iirc. They were very very unreliable for data storage, I would never use one for back up ... :o
