Modern Warfare 2's Ghost Getting his Own Game?

Recommended Posts

Modern Warfare 2 is the latest game from Infinity Ward and Activision in the Call of Duty series which features blistering first person action. The game saw one of the biggest launches in history, breaking day one sales records in the UK. Of the characters featured in the game, it seems Ghost is quite popular, and he has even got his own comic book.

Now That Video Game Blog is reporting that Modern Warfare 2’s Ghost might be getting his own game. Apparently, at the games UK launch event, Craig Fairbrass, who voices Ghost in the game, said that "they" are considering a game solely for the character Ghost.

I did in the last game a voice for a character called Gaz and in this game I?m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they?re talking about another little game to go with it, Fairbrass apparently said at the event, so, I?m quite excited about it. It?s grown and grown and grown.

In the beginning, the very first level in training when you run "the course", did you guys hear how they were talking about Ghost, they said that he "ran the course in 8 seconds last week"....

Sounds like Gaz lol. Especially after the training in modern warfare 1.

Its gutting that Ghost is dead. I would almost not even mind if they came up with a stupid story to bring him back, just like they did with Price, because he is just so awesome.

Nah it will be a prequel for sure.

He gets fatally shot i.e lifeless body then burned..surrounded by General shepards men and Makarov's men...he is definitely dead.....

Same with Gaz in MW1..definitely dead

MYBE..they were brothers??

Twin brothers?

It would be pretty nice if you actually used spoiler tags considering you are not the only who finished MW2. You know.. that term "being considerate"

You knew the thread was about MW2 and one of its characters its safe to assume it will have spoilers in yet you entered anyway.

I don't see how it's safe to assume that, unless there was a spoiler tag.

Its been out for 2 weeks. If someone cared that much about the story they should have played it through on easy jus to see it.

I didn't even think of Gaz=Ghost though I havn't played enough of single player ot make that connection I guess.

Ruining the MW2 story for me is like someone ruining an episode of Hollyoaks. However the others are right, not everyone 0-day completes every game.

Even months later it's a bit stupid to run around posting huge spoilers without some discretion.

Id like to know how he survived being shot then burnt, unless its a prequel to MW2 as Ghost is obviously Gaz, would be nice to see what happened between MW1 and MW2.

Thats exactly what I was thinkin but as long as they make another Warfare I dont give a crap what its about

Sorry but Gaz died in MW1.....I mean seriously, he was shot at close range in the back of the head.

According to the comics:

MODERN WARFARE 2: GHOST #2

Written by David Lapham

Art by Kevin J. West

Cover by Federico Dallocchio

Sgt. Riley codenamed Ghost has found himself in many a sticky situation while serving in the S.A.S. But never has a mission fallen apart so fast. On his first Joint Task Force mission, a combination of betrayal and bad luck has landed him in the hands of a blood-thirsty Mexican drug czar. Could things possibly get worse? Absolutely, yes.

Ghost = Sgt. Simon Riley, not Gaz.

(source)

So unless Sgt. Riley renamed himself to Gaz (whatever his full name is) and then Ghost for MW2, Ghost is obviously NOT Gaz.

Speculation is that the MW: Ghost game will be about Ghosts past, ie. Sgt. Riley.

Would be a bit lame considering the way MW2 went with his character and knowing how it ends.

Unless he survives somehow, Roach sucked, but Ghost was awesome. :D

Id like to know how he survived being shot then burnt, unless its a prequel to MW2 as Ghost is obviously Gaz, would be nice to see what happened between MW1 and MW2.

The only link to them being the same is the fact that its the same voice actor, at least from my knowledge, or have I missed something?

And I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can see Ghost's face too.

If you watch the trailer that plays if you leave the game idle at the menu, during the last mission of Act 1, you capture the dood by shooting him in the leg.

It then blacks out and loads with Mactavish and Ghost in a garage type room with Ghost playing with the electricity, in the trailer from the main menu, it shows a guy with no mask, but the same uniform as Ghost in the same place as he is in the game.

So I really don't think they are the same people, lol.

But I could easily be wrong. :p

Ghost was my absolute favourite character in MW2 and I was gutted to see him go. Seriously I felt really bad after seeing what happened to him. I would love a story based on him. Prequel preferably (Y)

Cant really have a sequel can we? :p

But yeah, For some reason i felt an emotional tie to ghost lol

    • All versions is correct. The bug appears on any version of Windows with KB5094126 installed. It's a little insane to expect the author to explain that systems that can't possibly have that patch installed, will not experience the bug. If you have any gripe about the title, it would be that it doesn't mention the update at all, but I wouldn't agree with that either. A title is not expected to be a full summery of the article.

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
