I have an ATI Theater 550 Pro PCIe TV Tuner. It worked perfectly fine in Windows XP (32 bit), but when I upgraded to Windows 7 (64-bit), it stopped working. Whenver I load Windows Media Center, it shows an error reading "tuner not found". I have installed the latest drivers without any luck. The device shows up as "ATI Unified AVStream Driver" in the device manager.

There are no official drivers for the 550 pro for Windows 7. I tried the Vista 64-bit drivers, and the Windows 7 drivers for a different model, neither of them work. I've read plenty of reviews stating that it works with Win7 64, so does anyone know anything I can try to get this device working?

That's strange.

It works great for me (using Media Center too) in Windows 7.

What I had to do was go to ati.com, download the Vista 64 drivers, and then run the install. That, however, would not install the driver itself. So I had to go to the temp install folder (usually C:\ATI) and there were about 3 executables there (setup, installer, something like that) and I changed the compatibility settings on all of them to "Windows Vista" (not Windows Vista SP1 or anything else, as they won't work), then I went ahead and clicked on Setup, and it finally installed the driver. I was able to use Media Center then.

Followed your advice and ran the installers in Vista compatibility mode. They hung up at a screen that say "Enumerating source media for installable packages", which was a different result than before. I restarted the install with the same affect. I than changed the path where the files are extracted to (normally c:\ati, changed to c:\ati_driver), and changed the install path. Low and behold, it installed and WMC detected the tuner. Thank you!!!!

Awesome! I love the Theater 550, IMO its TV image quality is by far one of the best.
