What to do when there is no boss in the office?

You know I have to laugh at these comments about "be ultra productive" or "you need constant supervision", man some of you need to lighten up. You have no idea how hard I work and for what I get paid for the job I do.

Lighten up a little and your life will be less stressful and more fullfilling!

I've worked plenty of times on my own, being very productive, incharge of other people. I thought this community was more fun than this... :huh:

I wasn't saying you are a slacker. I was merely suggesting this how you might be perceived if you come on a forum and start a thread like this one. Without knowing anything else about you, that's all we have to go by.

Besides, haven't you seen enough articles lately discussing people getting fired, losing their health benefits, etc because of some public posts they've made?

I have to agree with the work thing. Get your work done, show them you're b'dass, but just take it easy and don't stress.

Get some work done. That's what we do. We don't have any bosses half the time. We just work like we normally do without them.

Wouldn't really work for me, my work is based on deadlines (that I set myself most of the time....). So I can slack off all I want but I better have my stuff done by the deadline

Find all the spare paper in your office, ball it up, and try throwing it into a bin from varying distances.

Set the paper on fire when you're done.
