Challenges of skinning in a Windows 7 world

So, I ask again, what IS it that you want in a WB, what do Master skinners have to produce to get a fair shake around here ? What exactly do you expect\want? I wonder if some people even know.

I'd like to see some mockups of what people want. :)

Silence is deafening.

As I said...less Aero-derivatives and more unique themes. I can't draw but I certainly can tell you if I like something...my paycheck is my voice, not my fingers.

And vStyler, your themes are what I expect from the other themers. You don't steal resources from DeviantArt like another 'Master Skinner' on Wincustomize.

I used WB when KOL had the Vista theme that he was asked to take down and I haven't used WB since. the themes just SUCK even the included ones.

I dont care how awesome your software is if it's just being used to make the OS look like an ugly POS, which just makes all your effort worthless. No one will pay money to make Windows look worse.

I do not make skins but I have a few friends that do, and they have stated how difficult it can be at times.

What I look for (me personally) is a skin that offers minimalism. I am talking about a thin taskbar, thin titlebars, squared (not rounded) skins.

why should i pay for a master skin ?

Why does anyone get paid for the work they do? Master Skinners put a lot of time and hard work into skins, so there is no reason they shouldn't be entitled to get paid for it.

People pay money to customize their desktops to the way they like it to look. That is what it is all about. :)

why should i pay for a master skin ?

Sorry, is there a difference in designing a windows skin to designing a website, or making an application?

I've never made a skin myself, however I can imagine it involved many hours of hard work.

At the end of the day though, don't like it - don't buy it. (Y)

    • Brave Browser 1.91.178 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. Brave Browser 1.91.178 changelog: Fixed certain extensions not working as expected. (#56271) Fixed inability to use Brave Sync in certain cases. (#55203) Upgraded Chromium to 149.0.7827.196.
