[Steam] Holiday Sale

^Nice! That's a great game!

EDIT: I have a copy of R:TW, but the CD Key didn't work. As a consequence, I have never played it online. I think I'm going to buy a copy through Steam; since it's so inexpensive, at the moment. That will save me some trouble.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I just bought Rome: Total War Complete Edition for $2

Hmph. Rome: Total War Complete Edition is 14.99 ? here, Rome: Total War Gold Edition 3.24 ?.

Good deals (one of which I am going to buy), but still significantly more than what you pay in the US and Canada.

I picked up the THQ pack during the Thanksgiving sale, even though I already owned several of their games. I figured I'd be able to gift out the games I already had to friends. This isn't the way it works though. Instead they cheat you out of the games you've purchased: instead of having 2 copies of the game that you paid for, you only get one. Valve actually did this when Orange Box came out (you could gift the games you already had in the set). I wrongly assumed this was going to be the case again, and that I was getting what I paid for.

Really a great bait and switch, when you think it over.

Here's the canned response you get if you ask them about it:

Thank you for contacting Steam Support. Extra copies are not given for duplicate game purchases unless explicitly stated otherwise. I'm seriously thinking of getting RE5 as it costs RM85 at the moment instead of RM179 but is it worth it? I enjoyed RE4 and I wanted to get RE5 but it was too expensive at the time.

    • I tried to get the latest secureboot certificate for my old Dell 7010 Optiplex machine.   I restored the default settings to Secure Boot. Big mistake.  Now when secure boot is on. The machine doesn't boot and complains about no booting devises.  The computer's secure boot can't find where to boot and the information apparently has to be entered manually.  Secureboot's settings are now years old and it can't find a new configuration.  What could be done here? There are plenty of files to choose from in the secureboot menu, but I don't know what to put there for each of the four Windows 11 upgraded from 10..... originally who knows what (used machine)
    • I see you're still rocking that g700 mouse
    • They need to follow the standard for AAA game but they will go at lowest level for triple a game because will sell more, earn kudos and the milk it for years anyway. look how much they milked gta 5 and how they milked the original 3 - San Andreas and vice city. it is probably going to be a fun game but then they allowed someone to remake classics that somehow were more broken and worse then original i hope they don’t ###### up this one!!!
    • In addition to the "sidebar app list" and "Collections" features, Microsoft will also deprecate the "Drop" feature. Before you publish this news and credit another site, here is the original source: https://x.com/i/status/2067838711870439583 .
