I'm trying to upload an Excel file, and read the information found in the file in order to save them to a database. What's the best of doing this? I've never done anything like it before. The fields in the Excel file mirrors the fields in the database I have.
If it helps I barely if at all see any such questionable apps masquerading as something else and, when I have, if it is notable I do see it reported elsewhere (e.g., an unofficial 7-Zip listing in the Microsoft Store some time ago). Microsoft if I recall also does strengthen the policies from time to time when such issues are brought to light.
With that said, all of the apps installed on my machines are reputable and safe; they are known.
Apparently a single Reddit user posted a bunch of made up stuff about it being spyware and Steam users started review bombing it like mindless sheep. People have read the actual updated EULA and said that there's nothing notably different in it and nothing pointing to it being spyware. (replied to wrong post)
