Skype display IP address?

I am completely unfamiliar with Skype, and was wondering when the connection that is made between the 2 people, is it possible to determine the IP address of the user you are speaking to or vice versa? Or the location of the user by any means?

Best course of action would be try and minimize all traffic, initiate a connection (preferably video call, as it takes the most data), and inspect your packets. If you have a good firewall firmware, you can use that. For example, it would be very easy to do with Tomato firmware (it even has automatic address resolve).

cool thanks for the prompt answers, ill give it a whirl to test on myself, like i mentioned im kinda more looking to protect myself than dig up on the other user
