Season 3 Characters Revealed!

Skins returns to E4 for a third series of ten new episodes in January 2009 with just two returning characters, introducing a host of new talent.

The Skins Class of 2009 is headed up by the beautiful and mysterious Effy (Kaya Scodelario); enigmatic and elusive as ever. She's joined by best friend Pandora (Lisa Backwell): sweet and kooky, she keeps the gang together.

Twins Katie and Emily are pulling in different directions: one wanting to shed her twin and gain status, the other hanging on, crippled by shyness.

Naomi, a beautiful idealist ? passionate, political and principled ? completes the line-up of girls.

The guys are led by the irrepressible and irresponsible Cook (Jack O'Connell ? This Is England, Eden Lake), a daring and charismatic leader. His best mates struggle to keep up with him ? but are always there.

Freddie skateboards, smokes weed, loves his mates and is very cool.

JJ, aka Jonah Jeremiah Jones, is a master illusionist and also the gang's 'strategist'.

Finally there's Thomas, who travelled from the Congo to set up home with his family, and has to find his feet in a new and strange country.

Together the gang bond as they fall in and out of love and lust; fight one another; and also unite as one.

Character Profiles

29mabtj.jpg

AGE: 16

MOTTO: Everybody dances to their own boom boom.

ABOUT ME: I'm Effy. It's a **** name but it's short for Elizabeth which is even worse. I live with my Mum and Dad. My brother used to live here too but now he's gone. On the day he left he gave me his duvet cover, half a bottle of Peach Schnapps, and his bedroom. Well, he doesn't need it any more does he? So now it's my kingdom. I drank the Schnapps and gave the duvet to Oxfam.

These are the four most interesting things about me:

1) I can pick stuff up with my toes. Like, not just socks and crap like that but big things. Ketchup bottles. Ashtrays. Ipods. It's a less useful skill than you’d think.

2) My Dad was so angry when I got expelled from the **** school I used to go to that he literally started farting in rage. Gross.

3) I'm distantly related to a 17th century French aristocrat called Cecile DeLacroix. She was beheaded during the French Revolution. Her eyes carried on blinking for 14 seconds after her head was severed from her neck and her lover had her teeth sewn into his pillow.

4) My favourite smell is petrol.

If you want to know any more send a stamped addressed envelope and ten pounds in cash to P.O. Box 67894.

FAVOURITE BAND: No.

T.V SHOWS: TV rots your brain and makes you infertile. True story.

FILM STARS: I don't have favourite film stars. Everyone gets old and **** in the end. My favourite film character is the Elephant Man. He's hot.

DREAM DATE: Refer to last question.

Hi! I'm Pandora Moon. I'm 17 and super duper excited about writing my first internet blog.

MY MOTTO: (`'`'~-.._..*5[^^]!L?*.._..-~`'`')

I asked all my friends what to write, well, I asked Eff, because she is my best (and only) friend. She said I should describe the way I would kill a baby rabbit. I think she was joking. At least I hope so! You know, I really like Eff but sometimes she's just a bit scary! Instead I thought I’d tell you about my most favourite animal and why I love it so much.

I absolutely love Caterpillars. I think they are definitely the most interesting sort of animal, insect, whatever. As a child my favourite book was 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' I'm sure you've read it. It's absolutely fascinating. However, when the teacher used to read it to me at nursery I always used to cry when the Caterpillar became a Butterfly, which was odd because all the other children used to cheer. I just couldn't understand it. The poor Caterpillar didn't know that by eating all that food he was forcing himself to grow into a butterfly. What if he was just hungry, but didn't want wings and didn't want to fly. One day I got so scared that I'd become a Butterfly that I didn't eat any breakfast, but then my mum explained that children weren't like Caterpillars and the only thing that would happen if we ate lots is that we'd get bigger. So after that I ate all my porridge. I really like Caterpillars and I don't think it's fair and that they are forced to become different animals when they might be perfectly happy being what they already are. Everyone says that Butterflies are way prettier than Caterpillars but I disagree. Yes, Butterflies have pretty coloured wings, but Caterpillars also have really incredible, detailed patterns on their skin.

More about meeeee......

FAVOURITE BANDS: Hair bands because I always wear my hair in bunchies, it's totally my signature look. Although I do love making rubber band balls!

T.V SHOWS: I love Jeremy Kyle. I also love Trisha.

DREAM DATE: My mum says boys are bad and has banned me from having a boyfriend. Eff said mum's right and having a boyfriend is a waste of time. She said having a buddy is much more time and pleasure efficient. I'm not sure what she means but a buddy sounds like fun.

FAVOURITE WEBSITES: www.pimpmysearch.com. It keeps me amused for hours!

www.whatsthiscaterpillar.co.uk

And obviously www.youtube.com.

I love the Harry Potter Puppets. What's that mysterious ticking noise?

Oh no, I gotta go, mum's calling me (we're going to our pottery moulding class).

PANDA x x x x x x x

P.S. What's your favourite animal?

Big fan of the first two series, but I don't know if Effy herself will be able to carry it. I guess I'll have to love the new cast as well. It worked with House, but I just don't know with this one.

E4?s home-grown drama series is coming back in January, but with just two of the original cast returning Skins 3 introduces a gang of new faces.

?We?re very excited about series three of Skins and feel that our new cast are shining in roles, stories and characters which have been created by young people to a greater extent than ever before.? Bryan Elsley, Executive Producer.

The Class of 2009 is headed up by the beautiful and elusive EFFY (Kaya Scodelario), returning as the new queen bee. She?s joined by sweet and kooky best-friend, PANDORA (Lisa Backwell) who keeps the gang together.

The guys are led by the irrepressible and irresponsible COOK (Jack O?Connell - This is England, Eden Lake) a daring and charismatic leader of the gang. His best mates are FREDDIE (Luke Pasqualino) who?s the skateboarding, weed-smoking ?cool? one, and JJ aka Jonah Jeremiah Jones (Ollie Barbieri), the master illusionist.

The twins KATIE (Megan Prescott) and EMILY (Kathryn Prescott) are pulling in different directions. One wanting to shed her twin and gain status, the other hanging on, crippled by shyness. Completing the girls is passionate, political and principled NAOMI (Lily Loveless). Finally, THOMAS (Merveille Lukeba), good and honest, he travels from the Congo to set up home for his family, and has to find his feet in a new and strange country.

Together the gang bond as they fall in and out of love and lust, fight one another, compete against each another, and also unite as one.

Series 3 will see guest stars Harry Enfield and Morwenna Banks return as the Stonem parents, alongside new guest appearances from Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, and actors Mackenzie Crook, Sally Phillips and Geoffrey Hughes.

The ten brand new episodes are written by a young British writing team, headed up by Executive Producer Bryan Elsley. Chris Clough is series producer, while series 3 is directed by Charles Martin and Simon Massey. Skins is made by Company Pictures and commissioned by Camilla Campbell for E4/Channel 4.

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
