[UK] E4 Skins

Recommended Posts

This series has been really disappointing. Aside from a few golden moments (last week's celia/cook moments come to mind), it's just been one depressing spiral of drug abuse and fights. This wasn't what Skins was meant to be about. Check the first Series...funny, witty and a damned good watch from start to finish. Shame.

Plus, doing what they did last week was tasteless and unnecessary.

agreed

I finally got round to watching it. Seriously? kind of an odd thing to do. I guess it probably increased their ratings or something.

ratings are always solid for skins, its E4's biggest show (other then Glee but that's not E4's property) but it was certainly the most talked about

Skins bought in something like 3.6% for E4 during the twist episode then a further 1.6% on +1 that is pretty impressive it would be interesting to know how many people re-watched it on 4od, i joined skins during the previous series which had this current cast and enjoyed that but it started to fizzle out when effy took off with cook and went to see his dad.

Keeping my eye on DigitalSpy for any future updates on the next series, do we have any dates on when this might air?

it airs around the same time every year late January to March

Effy is such a sh*t actress. Also this whole series has been sh*t!

She also has no reason to be depressed. People like her **** me off.

Also WTF is with the looney phychologist

Her brother got hit by a bus, i think she does have a reason to be depressed...?

NO idea what is with John, just a twist to the end of the series i guess.

I just think the whole production seems so fake and forced. The cast don't seem to fit their characters (see when there was kids trippin' off drugs at the BBQ) and the random cast members (cook's lawyer, sixth form head teacher, phychologist, the twins' parents) seem to forced too.

Hated series 3, and most all of series 4 so far.

Last Thursday's episode of Skins has drawn complaints from fans and charities, according to reports.

The Sun understands that the teen drama's latest instalment, which showed psychotic councillor Dr John Foster (Hugo Speer) appear to beat Freddie (Luke Pasqualino) to death with a baseball bat, caused controversy following its airing on E4.

"There was no need to do that to Freddie. You've definitely lost your fans," one fan remarked.

Lucy Russell of charity Young Minds said: "It could stop young people getting help."

Channel 4 said that only 11 complaints were made in total, adding: "The audience expect adult content."

The series finale of Skins airs on Thursday at 10pm on E4.

just 11? wow

Only 11 formal complains were made, there have been loads of people complaining about it to friends and such, so that figure isn't really accurate.

This series has been pretty bad compared to the previous seasons, but I'd have to say JJ's has been the best ep this series... hopefully the finale will be back up to standard.

it's probably had 11 proper complaints but saying to your friend isnt really a complaint its a thought :p, if all those people complained the show wouldnt be on air no more :alien:

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
