NBC to Conan O'Brien - The Choice Is Yours

Recommended Posts

As TMZ first reported, after the Olympics, Jay Leno will get his 11:30 PM time period back. We're told network execs have told Conan they will let him decide if he wants the midnight to 1:00 AM time slot. If he does, Leno's show will only be a half hour. If Conan walks, Leno will get a full hour, informed sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say Conan has not decided what he wants. We do know he's ****ed, because he was given no advanced warning this was coming. Conan's people told NBC they are considering the offer. Translation: Mr. O'Brien -- I have Rupert Murdoch on line one, Stephen McPherson on line two, John Landgraf on line three, Jeff Wachtel on line four ...

We're told if Conan gets another offer, even though NBC could block the move, they will let him go and give Leno the full hour.

Stay tuned ...

Wow they really screwed him over. He finally got the Tonight Show after all those years only to see Leno on the air before him again and now he is getting kicked to 12-1? Sad thing is that I have watched some of the Leno shows and wasn't too impressed.

Conan sucks big time on The Tonite Show! ~ Ratings are down big time on that show, let's face it Jay Leno was a shoo in for the show, because people were used to him filling in for Johnny Carson, Jay Leno learned from the master JC, Leno's show sucks because it's in a bad time slot and has to be different than The Tonite Show.

Conan was a good replacement or Letterman and he should go back to his old show, latohugh I don't know how that's doing with Jimmy Fallon.

NBC is a ****ty network, too many bozo's on the top corporate ladder.

I like them both... I think no matter what happens it'll all work out fine, personally. Leno getting 30 minutes would be fine with me, as his show already feels stretched out. Conan going to another network would be fine too, cause he'll still get his show.

The guy who should be fired was the moron that bumped leno out when he had the highest ratings in the shows history. I personally would prefer conn at the later time. His show was much more 'adult' then. He made a lot better jokes and did better bits. He's been rather tame on at 11:30. However, Leno leading into Conan was a good thing they had before. Now they break for news which loses many viewers.

Conan is just rubbish, sometimes there is some humor, but the rest of the time its just crap! furguson is better , but he's on ABC.....or something

Seriously? Shows how much variation there is in what people find humor in. I can sit through a whole furguson show and not even crack a smile.

Conan also has bad ratings due to Leno though, remember that. Because of Leno's poor ratings, the 11 News suffers more and they lose more viewers and they then become an even poorer lead in for Conan's show. NBC just screwed up bigtime this go round. They should have just offered Conan a nice contract back in 2004 instead of promising him the Tonight Show since Leno is still very popular (though not in prime time lol).

I have a feeling Conan will probably want to stick with the Tonight Show unless it's a really bad situation over there which I don't think it is. NBC would probably keep him rather than see him on another network taking even more viewers away.

    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
