French developer Quantic Dream, the studio behind the upcoming Heavy Rain, has spoken at length about sexes in game and the difference between sexual relations and porn. Sexy! "There are a couple [of sex scenes], but it's definitely not porn," Quantic Dream boss David Cage told PSM3. "We don't intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It's about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love.

The studio is making an adult game. Adult movies have nudity. They also have sex. Not all of them, though. Unfortunately.

Sex and nudity are a part of life. And if the studio is going to depict the real world for adults, then maybe its characters will take off their clothes. Maybe they'll fall in love. Maybe they'll have sex. And that's okay.

The game has already sparked a dialogue about the key difference between sex and sexy.

I'm pretty sure some of the gaming news team are too young to report on this game

what? ... mass effect was porn because they showed what everyone does in real life (i did it with the alien cause i am sick of human girls)

but, depicting daily routines in a game suddenly is labeled as porn ... wtf is wrong with people today (mainly old politicians and over zealous retards running for politicians)

i say, let it be man, this is what makes us think, i would be getting this game just for that, see pixels on a screen giving off the illusion of a woman in underwear (as if i don't see that enough downtown)

The fact that he even needed to come out and mention this is unfortunate. If it were a movie with the exact same storyline and events taking place, nobody would bat an eyelash at it.

That said, this game is definitely going into some rarely (if ever) explored territory as far as games are concerned. I've been interested in this one for a couple weeks now (after looking through the other thread), and I'll be buying this just to support the developer. I'd love to see this game succeed, since it'll show other people in the industry that games with mature themes can succeed.

I've yet to understand what the gameplay of the game is going to be like. What exactly is it? Is it going to be a puzzle game? If so, is it going to be a 3rd person game or a First Person game? o__o

a game with hot chicks in it does not need some crazy gameplay

also if you misspell chicks as chiks and the right click on it in firefox you get some asian racist word, cool

Yeah, but what exactly is the player going to be doing the whole game? Because I've yet to see how the gameplay will be.

The best way to describe it is... 'cinematic'

trailer + 10 min gameplay

I think it's because you'll get a shock when you see how this game approaches things.

It's a game about a fathers love for his Son, and a serial killer who's kidnapping and killing children. Not a gun toating Space Marine trying to save the world who consequently gets some booty on the side.

It'll be well and truly a definition of an adult game, not a game labelled an "adult game" because you can fire guns, kill people and see some boobs.

Whatever happened to creating [Definitive] and [Official] threads? ;)

They come nearer to release.

Not really, I think they're just prepping people for one of the first games in our industry that can be taken seriously as a "movie like"/"adult experience", without FoxNews calling the PS3 the "Porno Box for Children".

The game passed with a 15 rating in the UK, a 15. It's going uncut in America as well, when it comes to nudity/sex as graphical as Heavy Rain seems to be, these things don't normally happen unless there's a reason... that reason being it's obviously tasteful and applicable, again like above not just Space Ranger Bob banging a random chick cause you choose option Y.

How rude!

But then I'm 21, bring on the boobies! :D

I agree, there is nothing more enjoyable than in 1 second shooting some monster (or something ) and then see T&A.

@Audioboxer Moreover, i do agree that this Heavy rain game will approach things differently, but yet in school there was this Shakespearean play where the guy has sex with his mom or some sh_t like that anyway ... so ...

while this may be intended for a more mature audience, i disagree with the porn label ... games are not for kids anymore, and adults need their own niche ... so stop ****ing labeling **** and let Adults rule (not politicians or lawyers <- they are not adults nor kids, some are cool guys/girls while others are _____ insert own term )

Not quite sure what you're on about, the whole point of this is Cage telling people Heavy Rain isn't porn, or doesn't need labelled or attention put on it for perfectly natural things that happen in our movie medium - Nudity and sex.

If a game approaches it in the same way a movie does, it should be fine, and from the looks of it Heavy Rain has done it right even passing with a 15 for the UK.

Most games however so far have no romantic build up, or very lack of, black/white options, and one option randomly at some point that if you pick fires into a scene which is suppose to convey love and sex....

    • Microsoft's fast coding model MAI-Code-1-Flash comes to Copilot Business and Enterprise by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft’s recently announced MAI-Code-1-Flash model is now generally available to GitHub Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise customers. With this support, organizations can have more centralized policy controls and billing while finally being able to use Microsoft’s lightweight, first-party coding model. According to GitHub’s announcement, Business and Enterprise plan administrators must enable the MAI-Code-1-Flash policy in Copilot settings before developers can access the model. Microsoft says that MAI-Code-1-Flash is for fast, iterative coding work rather than the most demanding architectural or debugging tasks. GitHub’s official model comparison page says that the model is great for "general-purpose coding and writing," while it excels at fast, accurate code completions and explanations Microsoft introduced MAI-Code-1-Flash on June 2 as part of a broader collection of internally developed MAI models. GitHub subsequently expanded support to Copilot CLI, the Copilot cloud agent, GitHub.com chat, GitHub Mobile, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Eclipse, and Xcode, but said support for managed Business and Enterprise customers was still on the way. In Microsoft’s own benchmark testing, MAI-Code-1-Flash scored 51.2% on SWE-Bench Pro, compared with 35.2% for Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5. Microsoft also claimed that the model used up to 60% fewer tokens on SWE-Bench Verified. Do note that these are vendor-run results rather than independent measurements. The model is billed at provider list pricing under GitHub’s usage-based system. GitHub currently lists MAI-Code-1-Flash at $0.75 per million input tokens, $0.075 per million cached input tokens, and $4.50 per million output tokens. For organizations, the main incentive to use MAI-Code-1-Flash is likely to be efficiency rather than maximum capability. A smaller model that responds quickly and limits unnecessary output is quite useful for repetitive agent tasks at scale, especially after GitHub Copilot’s move toward usage-based billing. The "Flash" model is recommended for fast work and not necessarily for huge repositories with loads of context. It's better if teams compare their output with other larger models, especially if they're working on security-sensitive changes and complex, multi-file work.
