i know it is ruff, but it is my first one, i will appriciate any comments on how to improve this wall

I like the girl :D.... maybe put a lighter back ground?

and feather the edges of the neowin icon?

other then that she soft on the eyes :D

oh yeah.. maybe a diffrent font... more future lookin.

if you look on her left shoulder there is a like spot, sorry it is from the original copy of the girl

christ ive never done a wall in my life, but even i know gradients and smooth graphics are so easy to do and everyone loves them..

I've never seen such a bad wallpaper in my life. Seriously, don't bother posting your first wallpaper. Work on a few wallpapers to learn your own style, then start posting what you've made. This is just a horrible cut job on a picture of a hot chick thrown on to a bland background. Good luck on getting better-and perhaps try out photoshop if you're really interested in making wp's

Get photoshop and trace around her body with the blur tool and it will smooth it out so it's not jagged. You probably might want to get another girl however, your chic is missing a piece of shoulder, but if you want to keep her try cropping a small piece of her skin right next to where its missing and move the cropped pice over to the missing area and then use the blur tool again to smooth it out. :)

I would suggest maybe anti-aliasing the edges around the girl to smooth it out. Maybe put a textured background to help the transition.

oh give me a break.. i would think that a person that posts on Neowin (a tech/design site) and has been exposed to countless graphical pieces, be it skins or wallpapers, or one who would actually go through the trouble of making a wallpaper, given the fact he KNOWS what wallpapers are used for........ i would THINK, he wouldnt just badly copy/paste a pic on a 800*600 canvas, put a boring color as the background not even trying to make it interesting, and add the most boring fonts and colors to an already cliche'd out cookie-cutter Neowin wall..

blah.. this sucks, end of story, and he should be trolled, if nothing, for actually NOT TRYING to do a good job, but compiling a 5 min hack and calling it your first wall..

If you don't like helping people out in a constructive manor, go somewhere else. Last I checked, Neowin was a community to help one another out, not to degrade people. If you don't like it again, go post somewhere where idiots like you are welcome. :angry:
