Like most have said above I also have no problems with Microsoft, hey I admire what they have done in such a short time... from garage to 3rd biggest company thats some achievement ;)

Yes they now and again come up with some crap ideas or ideals but such is life!

Every company going no matter what business they are in all want to be numero uno ( monopoly ) the companys that call foul on these top dogs are just suffering from the green eyed monster as thats the position they want to occupy. Too many people just go with the press hype and because MS are BIG feel the need to knock it down......... just think where would computing be today if it wasnt for MS? ( I hate to think )

One thing I would like to ask is those voting NO..... are you using MAC OS or a Distro?

I think they have some awesome coders, they hire some of the worlds best, but i don't necessarily agree why they choose to make everything soo god damn complex. KISS!!! It gets to a point where they don't even know what's going on anymore. There's a reason we see the same patches released several times and why it breaks behaviour.

They produce some awesome development software, games, and such but they havne't innovated much anywhere else. Most of their business decisions are pretty ruthless. Have you read the EULA recently? In order for capitalism to work we need competition and they don't always compete fairly. What's in their best interrest isn't always in ours either but when a monopoly makes a decision we're all stuck.

I wish they'd focus more on security, stability, and functionality rather than prettiness. DX9 graphics for a ui is much less important than a drastically improved kernel. This new file system is gonna be slower except when you wanna search for files. Otherwise it just runs on top of crappy ntfs. MSN 6 finally has working file transfer but other than that, its just a bulkier uglier interface. Can anyone name all 5 differences between Office 2k and OfficeXP? They have the potential to write good software because they hire some of the best coders but their priorities are in the wrong place. I admit that ui is very important but once you create a consistently intuitive skinnable ui, why replace it? Just get it right the first time.

they're ok, but often times they rush development and end up with more than buggy software and compatibility issues, thus windows update was created. I'm really neither way on this one though. MICROSOFT - Can't live with it, Can't live without it.
