MS Access Database

Question

How can I upload/integrate an MS Access database into a webpage on my web server? I know Caspio exists but I refuse to pay for that. I'm looking for a free alternative. Any help is appreciated and I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. HTML isn't a programming language and since I'm dealing with a web server, I posted this here.

Well, how about you start by telling us what server-side language you'll be using.

Let me explain my situation. I'm a intern/web developer for the city I live in. I manage websites, fix links and add new content. The city--as does every city in the United States--has its own gargantuan server. Within that server is a partition where my division's website is stored. I'm not to tech-savy when it comes to the web/internet as I specialize in hardware repair. But I do know HTML at least enough to land this job efficiently.

The entire website is managed by some sort of web UI system called QContent, although we have a server where we can store documents and other files (it is actually a FTP server, not a web server). As for the HTML files, all of them are managed by this system (QContent). What I want to do is implement a database my boss made using Microsoft Access 2003 into a webpage. I used the trial version of Caspio Bridge Online which was great but costs money, something I prefer to avoid.

Which language do you suggest? The easiest to learn and use would be great.

I'm only guessing, but I think QContent is written in ASP.Net (it seems to support reading a lot of Office files, so would make sense). I'm also not sure if QContent will allow you to embed ASP (or PHP), but I would guess not. Also, how many people are going to be using this little website, as Access isn't meant to be used for websites. :\

    • It's a shame because it's one of the best immersive sims ever made, even though it could have used a bit more monster variety IMO.
