I haven't made a visual style since the days of XP and haven't really had any desire to do so and since using Win 7 i've been pretty happy thusfar with aero, but i got the itch to make a mockup. Now keep in mind that this is just a mockup, i have no idea how to use skinstudio to make windowblinds skins and don't know if i have the patience to learn but who knows. Maybe i'll pass it along to a well known WB skinner or maybe I'll try to learn. Let me know what you think or if i should continue with this.

It looks nice, though I think you should reduce the size of the caption buttons and window borders a bit, dayum. :o

I like how you've designed it so that it is actually feasible as well. You should definitely try and get someone to make this.

yeah that can all be easily edited. I was just kinda building it from a screenshot of my aero desktop, thus why the buttons and borders are big. Still not sure if i should attempt to learn skinstudio or not..lol

Thinned out borders, new caption buttons, made caption bar gradient smoother, removed colored search bar from start menu and a few other small adjustments. I didn't get a great response to the red in the first mockup so i thought i'd try a nice blue. Comments appreciated, also if there is a skilled WB skinner that would like to take on this project, send me a msg.

Looking at the second mockup, honestly I think the title buttons are waay too big, uf your going to keep them that size then center the glyphs vertically over the 'background'

The whole theme is a bit too gradient'y imo and the buttons, at least, for me are too rounded, making them a wee bit bulky.

Not much to it really, then again, aint much to win 7 either , there's not much original here to really judge. Refine it some and it would be used by some, I wouldn't call it great.. or bad.

Lastly that dark default button will cause issues but you knew that already I'm sure.

I know its a mockup and I know how we skinners usually end up with something completely diff. to the original mock-up so have a stab at SKS 7 and see how u like it and how Seven skins Joe, its a blast!

Ok looking again at the mockups, they are pretty big and bulky and generally everything I dislike about WB skins. So I've created a new mockup, which is completely different but again, I have no skinstudio knowledge as to if some of this is even possible, so who knows if it will ever come to life, but if someone wants to take on this project send me a pm. It's a bit inspired by Acrylic 7 and scanlines are inspired by Winswy's upcoming theme venom (which is pretty awesome btw)

    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.
