Seems like a pretty good idea; the purpose of life is to become a god, esentially.

Missed a few questions like asking about life after death (which I doubt.. hence his statement that we increase our lifespan).

Fiction or not, quite a nice read - especially considering that he stated that producing a model or program of the mind is an important next step and I'm currently reading a book called "How The Mind Works", which discusses exactly this. Fascinating stuff.

I've seen god dozens of times ;)

Morgan-Freeman-God.jpg

It's wierd, but when i picture god, i see Morgan Freeman... thank you * Almighty movies :p

So you mean god is black?

(I dont believe this story at all and I do not believe in god either)

BTW You didnt post text written below the story:

Intresting? Very

Fake? Very

Google him as well. Nothing besides this article shows up.

I think its possible. I mean in no way does it say he IS god, just he created OUR universe. we will never know how our universe was created.

but I would have tried stabbing the dude. I mean I would go to jail. but damn, I would have to know if he was real.

This just shows how.. gullible (for lack of a better word) you people are, of course some genuinely enjoyed this story and understood that it's fiction, yet I can see that some people took it seriously. I'm afraid that even Atheists took it somewhat seriously...

Shows how a pretty story can make you believe anything it says, a burning bush ? Oh cool ! A conversation with God ? Awesome !

Get real, it's just as fiction as the Bible/whatever.

I won't go into nitpicking mode, but please stop with the supportive comments about how cool God is, you might as well bitch about Bloody Marry and how she killed your cat last night, go to a ****ing Asylum.

Edit: This is a generalization, please no comments about "I didn't say X" "I said Y, actually" or "I agree but Z"

I think a lot would. Lots of people try to antagonize god hoping he/she/it will smite them, thus prove his/hers/its existence. Says a lot about the nature of Man.

The problem with the whole thing is this:

The person\god mentions that humans need to let go of the whole religion thing and stop trying to live up or like god itself. It mentions that religious people are living too far in the past by believing in such things as the Bible or Qu'ran.

The interesting thing is, he later mentions that this will be posted on the web and people will only begin to believe it once we make the advances in technology etc that he discusses... Meaning, he WANTS us to believe in the writting? Meaning that this writting at some point could be seen, again, as a religious text, then placing us many years behind his idea of evolution, because people then begin religion focused on the fact that this discussion was indeed, actually with god itself...

Would that not make the whole thing a contradiction of itself?

Its an interesting read and sounds like a lot of thought has gone in to its writting, however, its one of those things that, unless it happens to you or in front of you; your bound not to believe it...

Sounds more like a 'Q' than a God (Star Trek FTW).

Exactly what I was thinking when I started to read the text.

It was "ok for awhile till the "thinking machine" and then I couldnt stop laughing. btw, you cant take this text seriously?, can you?.

The other text from the page are similar to this one. All pointed to evolution/machines/hippism

Seriously get the hell off your high horse. Nobody on the internet cares about what you think of them and your only going to incite bad attitudes going around "generalizing" people. If they want to choose to believe this thing then its their own damn choice to do so. The time to realize you know very little is when you think you know it all.

That is a very good point Rich, it's almost as if he is telling us religious texts are pointless but wait till mine becomes one and then take it seriously. As I said in my original post this has got a few inconsistencies but its very intelligent nonetheless.

To the dude that said he would stab the guy I think that's a very pointless action as surely this "God" which claimed he had evolved into a higher state of being meaning not of flesh would have a temporary body of flesh in order to be able to communicate with another human and not scare him etc. Meaning you would be able to kill his temporary body but do no damage to him as a "deity"...

Indeed, here's me getting off my high horse.

Your turn.

Seeing that God in this case took the form of a human, then I'm sure it's fair to assume that he's a being of energy? I think personally that humans are beings of energy as well, meaning that, when physical bodies cease to function the energy is simply displaced; whether or not that energy retains intelligence or anything, I have no clue. Anyways, I think it means prolonging our life in our physical bodies.

    • Google begins rolling out its post-Epic Play Store billing model next week by Karthik Mudaliar Google has confirmed that its redesigned Play Store billing and fee structure will take effect on June 30, 2026, in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Economic Area. The changes will let eligible developers offer their own payment systems or send users to an external website for purchases, while separating Google’s platform service fee from the cost of using Google Play Billing. The rollout puts concrete dates and detailed rate cards behind the broader Android policy overhaul Google announced in March. That announcement followed a proposed settlement with Epic Games intended to resolve their long-running disputes over app distribution and payments, although the U.S. portion of the agreement still requires court approval. Under the new billing choice program, developers selling digital content or services can display an alternative payment option alongside Google Play Billing. They may also direct users to their own websites to complete a purchase. Developers can use Google’s standard payment-choice screen or design one that complies with the company’s user-interface rules. Choosing another payment processor does not eliminate Google’s cut altogether. The company will continue charging a service fee for transactions associated with apps distributed through Google Play, regardless of whether payment is handled by Google, an alternative provider, or a developer’s website. Google argues that this fee covers the value and infrastructure provided by Android and the Play Store. For developers earning up to $1 million annually, the service fee will generally be 10 percent. That rate also applies to auto-renewing subscriptions. When Google Play Billing is used in the U.S., U.K., or EEA, Google will add a separate 5 percent billing fee, and developers processing payments elsewhere will not pay that additional charge. This means Google’s familiar flat 30 percent commission is disappearing, but developers will not necessarily see a dramatic reduction on every transaction. An in-app purchase from an existing user processed through Google Play Billing can still reach a combined 30 percent. The biggest savings are likely to come from subscriptions, smaller developers covered by the $1 million tier, and companies able to move customers to their own payment infrastructure. Google is also offering lower rates through its Apps Experience and revamped Games Level Up programs. Apps and games that satisfy the company’s requirements can qualify for 15 percent service fees on new-install transactions and 20 percent on existing-install transactions. The criteria include performance and reliability standards, support for additional Android device categories, and selected platform features. Those program rates are scheduled to become available in the initial markets and Australia on September 30. For consumers, the immediate effect will depend on whether developers adopt alternative payments and pass any savings on through lower prices. For developers, however, June 30 begins a more flexible but considerably more complicated Play Store economy in which distribution, billing, install dates, revenue thresholds, and program participation can each affect Google’s final cut. Google is also separately developing a Registered App Stores program designed to simplify the installation of qualifying third-party stores. That initiative is expected to arrive with a major Android release later in 2026 and will launch outside the U.S. first. Google says the rest of the world will receive the changes by September 30, 2027, although billing rates for markets outside the US, UK, and EEA have not yet been announced.

    • This is about the already discredited 2025 announcement. Not the current one, which I've heard nothing negative about in the academic literature.
