jnelsoninjax
On my Toshiba laptop when ever I plug in a flash drive or a SD card, and choose readyboost, I receive this error: My laptop is running Home Premium 32, and the flash drive is an OCZ Rally2 16GB, is there a reason for this? _neutrino Veteran Posted February 10, 2010 Veteran Share Posted February 10, 2010 If the drive is not rated for ready boost it simply will not work Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/874088-flash-drivememory-card-not-able-to-use-readyboost/#findComment-592222034 Share on other sites
Sikh
Sometimes under powered usb ports, usually not 2.0 will do that. I have a Patriot Xporter 16gig that is definitely readyboost, even Patriot says it themselves, what happens when plugged into front panel? Not readyboost able. Connect it to front readyboost able. Even thou front panel is 2.0 in my case, theres just not enough power. The rear panel always has direct power. As far as a laptop goes, I say try a different port or if you have to laptop / desktop. Also make sure its "rated' for readyboost capability. Usually that doesnt matter as my old 3-4 year old drives still do readyboost, some cheap ones just arent meant for heavy use and readyboost is heavy use/.
