Which brower will work with Windows 2000?

A friend who is running Windows 2000 on his PC called me today and said he received a message that after March 13th his web browser (IE6) will no longer be supported. Which browser can he install that will work with Windows 2000?

If IE6 no longer works (and you can't use IE7/8 on Win2k) then the only choices are Firefox, Opera...

If Chrome works (haven't checked) then i'd suggest using that (Y)

I can confirm opera and firefox work on win2k

i agree, firefox or opera. Chrome isnt available for win2000.

Thanks, I didn't realize Firefox 3.6 works with Win2000, good to know.

Keep in mind that just because support ends doesn't mean that the browser will suddenly and magically stop working. It will continue to happily chug along (or at least, painfully lurch along) until bitrot sets in and his system goes down.
