Apart from I'm in the UK you noob! Turns out they stopped hardback prints a while back in the UK. Only paperbacks, which is kinda gay. I'm gonna wait, I guess with the renewed popularity thanks to the TV series we will definitely see a re-print I reckon.

They have some used, not interested in that? Though, I hate buying used books and then they end up smelling like cigarette smoke. Blehk. And then there is this, which we can't get in the US:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Thrones-Book-Song-Fire/dp/0007441428/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1307068437&sr=1-1

Ewwww not used books. God knows what crap used books have been through. And yeah I saw the special limited edition. I'm kinda anal about things like that. I'd want all of them in the special limited edition. But like I said early, I figure with the renewed attention this book series is getting. I'd imagine that an entire new reprint would be order soon, with some lush boxset for sale. Think I'm gonna hold out for that, and just rape my local library for some copies.

In a good way or a bad way or "the series doesn't do justice"-way?

Very much in a good way IMO. It's uncompromising just like it has been all season I only worry they won't be able to show certain parts of what's to come. I absolutely LOVE this show and the first book looking forward to getting book 2 :)

Which channel is it being aired on? Is there an "on demand" way I can catch up? I've been told I'd like it and I should watch it.

if you from the UK its Sky Atlantic if you are USA not sure if HBO have a catch up service

So having never read the Song of Ice and Fire series, how closely is the show following the book? I only ask because ....

I'm holding out for a glimmer of hope for Ned, knowing what happens to him in the book....Of course that would change the entire dynamic of the show and they would have to completely change the story around but hey....I'm tired of seeing Sean Bean die in his work :p. If it does happen, I'm guessing it will happen in the last episode? Not sure if it happened at the end of the Game of Thrones book or not.

Nah, it happened when he was supposed to apologize to Joffrey (most of the battles have been fought after he died), which should be soon, I think he's gonna die in the next episode.

    • Honestly... 4 wasn't fun, 5 had unlikeable, annoying, or dull characters... Yeah, to me the magic died with San Andreas.
