GRRM posted this today, maybe this is how big the Dragons will get?

Do you have a link to this post? Is it from Twitter, or does GRRM have a blog?

Thanks, that one worked. I have definitely never heard it before, but the song isn't bad. I didn't understand any of the lyrics, but still, not bad.

Really? I think it was used it every single sporting montage for about a year after it came out, cause of it being uplifting.

That's ironic considering where I work, but nope, I don't think I've ever listened to it before.

Yeah I really don't understand the uproar that scene is causing. It's like people intentionally put blinders on for just that one scene; just to give them something to complain about. Meanwhile, last season we saw a pregnant woman get stabbed repeatedly in the stomach then get her throat cut and everyone talks about how shocking and edgy the show is!

TV shows like Criminal Minds and all of the other stupid crime dramas depict rape, torture, and murder all the time, but this particular scene people have a problem with? I don't get it.

A certain little place across the street from the amusement park?

Also, I've never heard it before either. And I watch all major sporting events.

The outrage is because it wasn't rape in the books. It was forceful but GRRM wrote it as perfectly consensual. No matter how they try to spin it now (with the producer backtracking), it was shown on TV as a rape scene.

You got it.  :shifty:

I understand that it wasn't that way in the book, but my point is there have been worse (or similarly awful) things in other episodes (and the same episode!) and other tv shows. I just don't get why this particular one is pushing so many buttons.

By the way, that wasn't rape. Jaime forced it at the beginning, but when the scene ends she agrees to it. She even puts her leg around him, insinuating the act.

I'm pretty liberal when it comes to these kind of things but I have to agree, I don't feel that was a rape scene. Where's the outrage over ######ing next to the dead body of their inbred sociopathic love child. smh.

If you've read the books, it means jack sh*t this time. Can't recall one scene that is from the books.

Nah, most of it was, and what wasn't shouldn't change the outcome of the season much (the Craster's subplot). Except for the ending, and holy #### what an ending it was.

TV spoilers

So White Walkers are a society, and besides turning the dead to zombies (wights), they can turn the living as well, pretty obvious into other White Walkers.

Agreed, it shouldn't really change the outcome. And I agree the ending was great. But I really find it hard to recall single scene that was in the books (maybe Littlefinger's speech and a bit of Meereen).

To be honest, I'm glad they're deviating from the books. I haven't read them myself, but from what I heard book 4 (or 5?) veers way off main story lines and starts following brand new characters with almost no tie-ins to the people we've been following thus far. And GRRM still hasn't finished the next book or brought the White Walkers into the story in any real capacity. That is all based on second-hand knowledge, so if it's wrong I apologize. However, if it's correct there is no way in hell I'd want them to stick 100% to the books. That version of the show would be way too drawn-out and boring.

That being said, I thought this episode was kind of boring. All exposition, no action. And some cliche character decisions that felt like a cop-out for a show that has generally steered clear of TV show stereotypes.

They aren't deviating from the books. They are creating scenes for characters because certain characters go long periods without being seen. Thats all. Nothing will change.

That's fine with me as long as they keep the pace going. They're already pushing the limits of waiting for the White Walkers to show up.

Possible spoiler from last night due to the labeling of information using HBO Go.

If it is true, it is a spoiler for BOTH those who have read all 5 books and those who have only watched the show.

They have since removed the reference in question, which adds to the credibility.

    • Are they marketed as an entry into astronomy or astrophotography? I do astrophotography. With big rigs, lots of computers, cables and headaches. I love it. And by learning this ridiculously complex hobby, I’ve learned about the objects I’m shooting. Astronomy followed from photography.
    • Microsoft confirms Recycle Bin bug across all versions of Windows by Usama Jawad A couple of days ago, we reported that the latest Patch Tuesday update has seemingly resulted in a lot of issues for many users, including OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, and BSODs. Although Microsoft is yet to acknowledge these bugs, it has confirmed another, relatively smaller issue across all supported versions of Windows. In an update on its Windows Release Health Dashboard, Microsoft has confirmed that after installing June's Patch Tuesday update (KB5094126), you'll experience unexpected behavior when leveraging Recycle Bin. Basically, when you attempt to delete an item from the Recycle Bin, the confirm dialog will show you the internal file name of that content rather than the actual name. For example, the file may be named abc.png, but the confirm dialog will ask if you're sure that you want to permanently delete $Rxxxxx.png from the Recycle Bin. This is pretty much it for the scope of the bug itself; it just displays the wrong name in the confirm dialog. The correct name will be shown in the list view of the Recycle Bin and if you restore the file, it will return with the correct name as well. This issue affects pretty much all supported versions of Windows client and server, including: Client: Windows 11, version 26H1; Windows 11, version 25H2; Windows 11, version 24H2; Windows 11, version 23H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 Server: Windows Server 2025; Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012 As things currently stand, Microsoft is working on a concrete solution that will be released in a "future" Windows update. It remains to be seen if the firm will wait till the next Patch Tuesday or roll out an out-of-band (OOB) fix. The good news is that commercial customers can deploy a workaround right now, but they will have to reach out to Microsoft Support for Business for additional details.
    • They said by this time everyone will have flying cars. WELL...
    • A study by physicist Henry Tye of Cornell University suggests that the universe may not expand forever. Instead, it could eventually stop expanding, begin contracting and end in a "Big Crunch" roughly 20 billion years from now. Maybe not as we now know that time can flow backwards.
    • Of course. Simply reverse the polarity.
