Not too heavy duty an episode except for the closing.

Was not expecting Longclaw through that dude's head. Holy cow that was awesome!

These episodes are blazing by too fast, we're at the halfway point now  :(

I really love the show but gosh, every episode it seems like not much happens. The Geoffrey (sp?) death episode was great I though. It seems like that was 3-4 episodes ago and Tyrion hasn't even stood trial. I hope they pick up the pace a little. I love the scenes with Arya and The Hound. Her "Water Dancing" scene was terrific and I wonder if that thrust at The Hound was intended as a poke or a kill. It seems like they've formed a bond so I'd hope she wants him to live.

I love this show, but it's really confusing for me some times. I really can't remember many things from last seasons, too many names, regions, plots, etc. I have a friend who reads the books, doesn't watch the show, and he's always a walking spoiler. But, amazingly, he remembers every damn thing in those books. Jesus...

Although I had tried to do so over the years since it had been released, I had never seen a full episode of Game Of Thrones prior to April 23rd, 2014.

Started watching with Season 01, Episode 01.

10 Days Later from when we started watching S01 E01, have watched ALL 34 episodes to get completely caught up with the series to date.

It was great being able to watch Season 04 Episode 05 the night it aired! The one and only downfall is it is so damn hard waiting a week between each show!

I really think this is a perfect example of shows made to binge watch.
I did try to watch the show initially when it was first introduced on HBO and I was just not ready for whatever reason to start watching it. I do not think it helped that I was very confused as to who was who when watching it the few times I did try (keep in mind I have not read the books at all).
So binge watching the show really does help a whole lot with understanding it all and putting 2+2 together for many of the intricate plot points and character progressions that make the show so damn good.

So if someone is reading this and was like myself and not sure about the show itself, trust me, dive in feet first and get ready for what imho when of the best shows ever made. I truly do believe that. It is one of my favorite TV series of all time.

What a great damn show.

I too had not watched any episodes (skimmed the first episode to see nudity, but wasn't in the mood to watch "another drama")

The girlfriend and her Mum had a dig at me for not giving it a proper go, so I watched 3 seasons in 3 weeks and was up to date for the season 4 premiere.

It's not "mind blowingly good" but it's very enjoyable.  I don't know if i'd put it up there with Stargate or Red Dwarf as one of my favourite series.

Now you can also try Vikings.   While it starts out much less glamorous then GoT, later on it picks up.  The political games are veru present there too. Highly entertaining and (as you said) much better when watched in sequel, so you can follow all the characters.   Second season has just finished, so you can start now.

crazy that I found this post by you, as I too just watched episode 1 and my first thought was.. I cannot keep watching this, way too many characters introduced in the first 30 minutes.  But after watching the full episode I have decided to at least finish season 1 so a co-worked of mine is brining in the blurays for me to start my binge

Yes, I'm having that problem at times too. I was pretty overwhelmed in especially Season 1 & 2 by all the faces. But I think this should on the upside make a rewatch unusually worthwile. I can only imagine how much I've missed, especially since this series is full of small details and hints.

You know that there are tons of wiki's out there that help with this.  My favorite is:

Came in here just to say this. Rarely is a show as rewarding on a rewatch as this one, you pick up on so many details on repeat viewings you missed out on the first time around it's incredible, even if you don't have problems with too many characters. Definitely worth owning the full boxset, when it comes out in 2019-ish :D
