ok, I finished the book finally.

I'm full of spoilers, the book is JUST awesome, some parts are boring... but 99% of the book is soo awesome...

I want to share some spoilers, but not sure how to use this WYSIWYG Editor to hide the words under "spoilers"

any help?

just put the text between spoiler tags, like this:
TEXT
It would also be nice to note beforehand that you're talking about book spoilers, since usually spoilers in a TV show thread relate to the latest episode, to hide stuff from the people who haven't caught up yet.

What if someone is talking to you while using swears? Could get warwagoning confusing.

I think this season will end exactly when:

SUPER SPOILER, you are warned.....

I nearly clicked it, and then thought, he said "super" and in red text, I better listen to him. Then I clicked "Quote" to say that for some reason..... which brought up the spoiler in the quote box of my reply...... I am now sad lol

I don't know about this Mountain. He's just big, doesn't look very fierce like the previous Mountain did, the one who beheaded his horse with one swing of his sword in a fit of rage. They tried to make him seem terrifying by showing him mercilessly executing people, but he just looked like a robot in that scene, going about a chore. He could just as well have been chopping down wood instead of gutting people with the amount of emotion he put into the character. IMO, they undid everything they had done in the previous seasons to build the Mountain's reputation as a psycho who enjoys killing people in cold blood and mutilating their bodies. The way it stands now, it looks like someone like Oberyn can easily outwit him.

I get email updates from this thread and they show all spoiler tags, luckily I missed this one.

I might have to unsubscribe from this thread, could we not create another thread for the books?

I really don't want spoilers from the books, because of the TV show and because I also want to read the books :(

I don't know if there's a need, but I'm all for removing any book spoilers from this thread (despite myself discussing them here from time to time).

So there's no episode this sunday? o.O :'(

Nope. The one week of the season when people can actually stay up late on a Sunday, not having to get up for work on Monday morning, and they don't show an episode. Gotta love the brain-dead TV executive decision making process.

Season 5 Character Details Unveiled

Prince Doran Martell ? Doran is described as the major new player this year, appearing in multiple episodes. The fiftysomething prince uses a wheelchair, is reclusive and rules wisely. It appears the show is looking to continue the trend it started with Pedro Pascal, and cast Latino actors for the Martell clan.

Prince Trystane Martell ? Trystane, the handsome fiance of Princess Myrcella, is being aged up to 18.

Areo Hotah - Doran?s personal bodyguard will appear throughout the season, assisting the prince with his duties. The show is particularly looking for a black actor to fill the role.

The Sand Snakes, Oberyn Martell?s bastard daughters (with ages ranging 18-25):

Obara Sand ? The eldest and most athletic Sand Snake will be having a major fight scene with a series regular character- not one who crosses her path in the books. This is an interesting change.

Nymeria Sand ? Nymeria is described as ?mixed race,? with her father being the fairer Oberyn and her mother being darker skinned. The second oldest of these Sand Snakes, she?s beautiful, emotional and very strong.

Tyene Sand - The youngest of the Sand Snakes that we meet uses her wits and seductive powers, and is less of a physical fighter than the other Sand Snakes. She is just as deadly as her sisters, however, but her weapon is poison.

Where's Arianne? (Not sure why character names and short bios would require spoiler tags)

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.
