Question, because I don't remember.

what happened to the crippled kid who could put his spirit in animals? Watching episode 5 and I thought Reek was told they killed the 2 boys, hanging burnt?

That story line isn't in this season.  The boy is still alive though.  He won't be back until season 6.

Is that how the book goes?

To be quite honest...I haven't read the books.  When it comes to books made into tv shows/movies the directors deviate too much for my liking and I'd rather just enjoy the show.

But, I follow the online forums/blogs/etc...like a maniac.  I love the show.

 play the telltale game

it is a bit slow but it is like watching an interactive story parallel to the show. and episode 3 is amazing!!

this game is a absolute must for the fans of the show.

For those without cable or low internet caps... I would 100% recommend downloading them.  Good quality, clear audio.. I see nothing wrong with them.

I think one if the reasons not to, is purely vanity, in my case, I've spent a small fortune on building my home theatre set up, so it's hd or bust for some, sd or ota broadcasts look terrible on big hd screens

But if you are a video buff.. you aren't going to download anything sub 1080 anyways.

Look for an old movie Kama Sutra, (The version that stars Rekha <Bollywood superstar>) She gets naked in that :p

Oh I've seen it ;)

i'm pretty far behind, is that kid still the king or has he finally been killed off?

Depends on which kid you mean.  Joffery was killed last season, so his little brother Tommen is now king.

Why does this season seem so much lower quality compared to what I I've come to expect from GoT.

...maybe I'm just getting bored of the show.

...maybe it's just because I'm not interested in the current phase of character development. I find the only arcs I seem to like are not really being shown with the exception of John Snow / Stannis which is always good. They've even managed to make Arya's arc boring, and I couldn't give a damn about Sansa/Bolton, Brienne and Daenerys.

I miss the Lannisters, the hound and even Joffrey.

a lot of bad guys we loved to hate are gone and it makes the show less entertaining

also book 4 is the weakest in the series.

we are also OFF SCRIPT for a lot little things so its not as intriguing and complex as the book is and was in previous seasons

Well, if they tried to go by the books, they'd dig their own grave. Characters get little screen time as it is, imagine cramming ten more storylines and two dozen more characters, we'd be watching a slideshow, not a TV series. They're doing a marvelous job compressing very bloated source material.

For me, perfectly on-par with previous seasons. Looks-wise, might be even better, loved the cinematography of the latest episode. Can't wait to see how the whole Winterfell story goes down (Sansa/Brienne/Stannis/Melisandre), considering it's such a departure from the books.

Man, that was intense.

I kind of feel that, as painful (both physically and mentally) this was for Sansa, she still wasn't a victim in all this, as she perfectly knew what she was getting into back when Littlefinger made the offer. And the whole ordeal could have been much, much worse. *cough*Jeyne Poole*cough* Still, very unnerving to watch. I do wonder how it progresses from this point on, especially since this is so divorced from books. My thinking is, her book marriage deal turns out similarly unpleasant, and that it fuels the fire for her eventually turning her back on Littlefinger. I also happen to think he was directly responsible for Ned's beheading (even Cersei was visibly shocked by Joffrey's decision, and I'm kind of thinking he didn't come up with the idea on his own), ant that she will figure it out, and since she is his only weakness, it will be the end of him. Or at least that's what I hope for, because I'd hate for her to regress back into being a pawn.

And the whole Arya bit about the Hound was adorable in a way.

I was waiting for Theon to snap out of it and kill Ramsey during the final scene.
