Today, Microsoft is shipping the new Xbox 360 Elite Spring Bundle, which offers more value than ever this spring. For the same price of $299, the Xbox 360 Elite console now comes with two highly acclaimed Xbox 360 exclusives: "Halo 3: ODST" and "Forza Motorsport 3." The Xbox 360 Elite Spring Bundle is perfect for those who want a premium gaming and entertainment experience.

Developed exclusively for Xbox 360 by acclaimed developer Bungie, "Halo 3: ODST" lets players experience the fateful events leading up to the epic story told in "Halo 3" through the eyes of an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), as well as play the new "Firefight" cooperative multiplayer mode. Additionally, "Halo 3: ODST" contains the complete "Halo 3" multiplayer experience on a separate game disc, including all 24 multiplayer maps. As an added bonus, the "Halo 3: ODST" game disc grants access to the upcoming "Halo: Reach" multiplayer beta on Xbox LIVE, which begins May 3. Anyone who purchases the Xbox 360 Elite Spring Bundle will have the opportunity to join in this highly anticipated beta test on Xbox LIVE and experience a sampling of the multiplayer modes in "Halo: Reach," which launches this fall.

The highest-rated racing game of this console generation, "Forza Motorsport 3" makes it possible for everyone to experience the thrill of the world's most exotic and exquisite cars. Live the most realistic racing experience ever as you take the wheel of more than 400 of the most beloved cars on over 100 renowned real-world tracks and exotic road courses from around the globe. The "Forza Motorsport" online community is also alive and thriving, as players compete on Xbox LIVE, sell and swap their custom Liveries and tuning set-ups via their personalized Storefronts and the Auction House, and share videos, photos and paint designs with friends. And with new Game Add-ons releasing every month, this award-winning driving experience is only getting better in 2010.

The Xbox 360 Elite Spring Bundle includes a 120GB Hard Drive that offers the storage to download games, the latest demos, TV shows, movies, music and more straight to your Xbox 360 console through Xbox LIVE, and is available while supplies last. <br class="brclear" style="clear: both; ">

I don't understand Microsoft. Real gamers already own a ******* xbox 360, So why the **** are they making us buy another one just because

it has a ******* bundle?

Nobody is making you buy anything. If you have no need for a new one, then this isn't for you.

Um. How about ... don't buy one? I don't see how you got the idea that they are "making us buy another one." I would imagine that this bundle is aimed at those who don't yet own a 360. Microsoft is making it a bit more tempting by bundling a few games.

woah there someone didn't have his wheaties today. Regardless the are doing this for those with old consoles / those looking go just adopt into this gen gaming console. Personally I believe this is the best bundle they have released.

Also with controllers being $40, yes 40 they are making a great move. Idk if it's a sale or not but next thing I know regular controllers are $40 and bundle controllers(controller +play&charge) are $55. That's great pricing. I hope it sticks as I noticed it's all stores not just Gamestop.

All I know is next payday I'm picking up 2 bundle controllers for the gf and a friend. Both red/black with play and charge :)

HAha right on. Pick it up while it's on sale. I had the red/black one as it matched my old console. Then got my cod system and stayed with black. My old console was red/black so controller was perfect.

It is a very nice looking controller. I like it

This is a freaking fantastic deal, especially when you consider that ODST is technically two games; one disc is the ODST campaign and the second disc is the entire Halo3 multiplayer collection (all map packs + mythic), and that second disc also gives you an invite to the Halo Reach beta.

Win. Win. WIN.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
