Got my new rig up and running!

What s1k3st said haha.

@Bob: i understand im sorry for that, was posting from my phone and wasnt the best option. What I was saying was, most people get it because its liquid cooling not realizing its a AIO liquid cooling solution. I would choose a custom cooling system build by me using Danger Den / Swifttech over a AIO solution. But ive used the H50 and for users who just want good cooling and not be bothered about refilling and etc, its perfect.

For me, if i liquid cool, ill go as far as to cool everything I can. But this will be a future project as liquid cooling is expensive, especially GPU block(s).

@Rage: Oh ok. Good work then. And oh hell yeah a modular PSU helps, I have the Corsair 750HX Modular 7 year warranty beast in my tower, love it.

That's my point. It's not a true liquid cooling system... How does a liquid cooler not require a water change. Explain to me why we have to change water in a normal liquid cooling system and no in a closed. Seeing how both use radiators/water/pump etc. Wouldn't you think the water would disappate the heat.

have you ever considered that liquid doesnt necessarily mean water?

Nice rig!! I've recently been buying parts to build my new machine, I don't consider myself a heavy PC gamer but I would like to play the newer FPS'.

The only piece I haven't ordered yet is my i7 proc, I have everything else sitting here waiting to be put together.

corrosive = wrong?

mineral water = wrong

Thanks for the helpful post. You could of posted the right info. Btw i meant Distilled water, dont know why i put mineral.

Also "Finally, some additives have antimicrobial or anti-corrosion ingredients". So yes Anti-corrosion would be good to add so it prolongs the life.

yes, distilled water and anti corrosion agents sound better

but the liquid might be some other type of solvent, like it is closer a type of oil or spirit/thinner/turpenthine , basically something which will never corrode metal or support anything growing in it...

Ok thank you for the reply. Thats what I thought too. But I dont see them using Oil. I wish someone would crack it open and would be able to tell us what liquids inside. I really would like to know.

Other then that, its a great cooler.

A lot of people use anti-algae solutions in their loops as well.

that is, they have to add anti algae stuff to kill the things which get into their loops because they arent sealed

the h5o is a sealed system so algae isnt going to matter

i think the main advantage is how it keeps the rest of the computer cool because it exhausts the CPU heat directly out of the case.... and yeah you'll have less noise because wont have a CPU fan, but rather a combination of a CPU and case fan

What's ironic is that from the camera angle the 5870 doesn't look that long of a card.

@RageofFury: If you own game consoles from this generation (360, PS3) why would you want to build a gaming PC? (This question is just a question and not criticism fyi)

Is it really all about keyboard + mouse?

I have a 60Gb PS3 and an X360(that's RROD...grrr). I mainly use my PS3 to play old PSOne and PS2 games as well as MLB10 The Show. All of which aren't available on the PC.

Nice nice nice build, I just ordered parts for our new build myself today (may make a thread like yours :p should be fun).

Hows the 5870 doing for you?

The 5870 is an amazing card. The performance is insane for a single GPU card. Worth the 420$CDN + taxe that I paid for it.

I'm going to take more pics this evening of the case and the insides and also the backside where all the wires are to give you boys and girls a better look. I wasn't expecting 34 replies hehe. Thanks all. :woot:

Wow.. good answer!

Well I'm glad that you like your new machine, I hope it serves you many faithful years! :)

Yeah my old Core 2 Quad served me well for the last 3 years. This new system which is top of the line should serve me well for 3-4 years at least. Plus by going with

socket 1336 I can easily upgrade down the road. Mobo also supports usb3 and sata6. I'm set for many years :p

Awesome build, man. I just ordered the H50 for my system a few minutes ago... i7 was running crazy hot with stock cooler and even the Dark Knight I just bought. So I'm hoping the H50 + my Antec 900 case will be a sweet combo. Are your temperatures good so far?

Really nice cable management, by the way. I haven't had a chance to dremmel a whole in the side for mine, but I did what I could.

When idling, my i7 920 @ stock GHz is at 26C, mobo temp is 28C. So yeah, awesome temps. Yeah it took some patience and some imagination to mod that case. Not easy, but turned out great.

Thanks for the temperature info, since we have the same case and (soon to be) same cooler, it should give me a good reference point. Haha, I barely got that back plate back on when I tried to hide the mess of wires back there. If I removed the screw it would probably fly off

nice system man - hope you enjoy it.

Nice choice on the mushkin Blackline - I have always been a huge fan of mushkin RAM - but for some reason always seem to buy Corsair.

But its nice to see someone straying from the norm.

10 yrs and issues? yeah that sounds like mushkin

    • The original word arts were far more awesome! With their own preconfigured fill patterns, 3D layout, etc, with options to fine-tune their size and colors as desired. I especially loved the ones circled below and still miss them from my primary school years: I frankly use them less these days 'cause the new one isn't as straightforward fine art as what we originally had, taking time and effort to get back to the same graphics quality as the original offered, which I simply don't have enough of for merely fine-tuning my presentation titles. Same with the built-in picarts selection. Bring back the original pre-configured options for word art then I'll be using them far more frequently in my presentations even today.
    • What didn't you understand about that was mainly referring to Google, Microsoft, etc. keeping your passwords. Password Management is a key service of Bitwarden and it's not going anywhere. In any case they do offer export to other Password management services, backup/download of passwords, and the already mentioned on-prem option. I don't agree with the OP to use the free option as it's better to be an actual customer IMO. They don't just don't delete accounts like the big tech companies with no recourse which was the main concern of this article. I was confused if the author was trying to sell this setup? It should be obvious to anyone reading this article this solution is overly complicated and overkill for most users.
    • I got this notification just now in Android: So I went in to disable the "Other" or "Marketing" notifications in Notifications management: But it came through the Now Playing? So if I disable that I no longer get what's Now Playing in Notifications? I'm a paying subscriber, not on the free plan... can they sink any lower?
