Worthington predicts five 'Avatar' films

Nice trolling. Just shows how ignorant you are. You clearly don't know who Cameron is. He have pushed movie technology for decades.

You should give some credit to Stan Winston.

Give us a pornographic version of Avatar! I want to see some of that hairy action

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel but prob should stop there, there are way too many movie franchises going into the "Friday the 13th/Nightmare on Elm Street" way of thinking about films...

Some movies make sense to have trilogy's and such because of the continued story but not this one so much... (No I'm not trolling just expressing my Opinion)

I think it has more to do with Hollywood then true film making. There is no reason they couldn't make 10 sequels of great quality. Look at some book series and they have delivered a great quality book throughout the entire series.

I love the concept of a series of Avatar films, but I hope it just doesn't turn out to be recycled crap film after film. I'm quite interested to see how they even start the second film, as the first was tied up quite nicely.

I consider myself to be a dedicated SciFi fan and I still have zero interest in seeing Avatar. It won't be remembered like Blade Runner, Dark City or Brazil. Heck, even 12 Monkeys will probably age better.

I am in the same mind dude, I love Sci-Fi always have but like you I don't really see myself sitting down to watch it, from the outset and the concept on the film I was like "meh" and I still am. I will never fault it for its visual attraction but you can see from just pictures it looks amazing but no not for me.

same here i have no interest in seeing a movie that stole its title from a cartoon. i don't know how this film is considered revolutionary or considered a brilliant film when it is 85% CGI. i am so glad cameron lost best director to his ex-wife. Also glad it somewhat got kinda snubbed at the oscars. The Hurt locker is what i call a brilliant movie

Eh, I didn't quite see why The Hurt Locker was so great. Although it might be because I was in the military and can't help but call bull**** in some scenes. Of course there were a few scenes that had some problems like the sniper scene (entirely unlikely on its own) where it suddenly transitions from engaging the enemy to the EOD team being dehydrated and weak as if a lot of time had elapsed although there was no indicator of this. It was still overall a good movie but I think it's a tad overrated.

I'm just going to go ahead and ask it, what has Cameron revolutionised?

For Avatar he created an entire new camera system. He did the same for shooting underwater for The Abyss. He has also revolutionized sci-fi on the big screen, for better or for worse.

You're going to make me post this again?... Sheesh

I don't see how capturing CGI from multiple angles is "revolutionary" CGI is CGI, PERIOD. With our without motion capture. And I hate to say it to all you avatar fans out there, but visuals AREN'T the only thing that make a great movie... Heck for that matter, lets have james cameron re-do every movie that has had CGI in it and I dare you to spot a difference ;) Though I will give you he came up with some trick for shooting? Big deal, it's not changing the industry as a whole, people take words for granted...

So IMO... Heath ledger revolutionized how villains are to be portrayed.

Lord of the rings revolutionized make up...

Hell even the bullet time in matrix was a lot more "revolutionizing" then avatars CGI...

/revolution

In the end to each their own mate... I consider myself an avid sci-fi fan and count me in on changing channels if it were to show up on HBO/whatever channel you fancy.

You are entitled to your opinion, of course.

That's true. The story in Avatar wasn't weak but it wasn't anything new either. Of course, Titantic was the same way. Obviously, Cameron is doing something right for so many people to love his work. It's too bad that some of the really great sci-fi classics haven't reached the big screen. They would make some awesome movies.

I am a true blue sci-fi fan and I thought Avatar was great. However, like you said, to each their own.

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
    • OK so SearXNG is a meta search engine that you can install locally or use via a public instance. It scrapes other search engines which you choose and then sorts the results. Not as complicated as multiple relays
