CMD Net Logon Help Please

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have a computer running windows xp in a domain running windows server 2003.

Each time i start up the computer, it runs comand prompt for what i believe to be a net logon script? :s.

It then requires the administrators password to enable access to a mapped network drive,

i have since given permission to the user to access the drive without needing to type the password in the command prompt each time at start up.

I just need to stop cmd from popping up asking for a password each time the user logs on.

i have looked in start up and msconfig for it but cannot see it.

Can anyone please help.

Much appreciated,

Thanks

Josh

i have looked at everyones user properties and they all run office.bat script but for some reason, this one user is asked to enter the administrator password each time when he logs on in command prompt.

every one elses user name does not show the command prompt :s

please help

Cheers,

Josh

This comes down to a rights/permission issue.

You will have to use the tools provided in windows to verify permissions and/or reset permissions. Remember to verify share level and file level permissions.

Again I can look at it if you'd like.

Try the same user on a diff comp, does it follow? If it does then it most certainly a user rights issue.

Hi! so the screenshot is the cmd.exe, can first close this cmd dialog box,

then right click "My Computer" >>> left click "Map Network Drive..." >>> in Drive: TextBox please choose "P:" >>> in Folder: TextBox please input "\\NAS\Public" >>> then tick "Reconnect at logon"

option >>> left click "Finish" button >>> here Windows will ask user to input a vaild username and a vaild password, if the user login account (because now your computer has already login, so

Windows recognise the logined user name and password as a default user account to access this network drive) has permission to access the network drive "\\NAS\Public", after you click ""Finish"

button, you can see network drive icon inside "My Computer", if the user login account (because now your computer has already login, so Windows recognise the logined user name and password as

a default user account to access this network drive) has no permission to access the network drive "\\NAS\Public", please click "different user name" then input another a vaild username and a vaild

password to access.

    • Fully know where this has come from… If we cannot block mods (for yes, the stunningly obvious reasons), then perhaps one could not start arguments where they don’t need to exist and people are trying to help each other.

    • NotebookLM's Audio Overviews is coming to Google Search by Aditya Tiwari Audio Overviews will find a new home in another Google product. The search giant announced that Audio Overviews will be available on Google Search this time through its latest experiment in Search Labs. The feature will use Google's latest Gemini models to generate quick, conversational audio overviews for certain search queries. An option will appear on Google Search to generate a short audio summary on the topic of your query. However, according to the company, the option to generate summaries will only appear "when our systems determine it might be useful. " When interacting with the Audio Overviews card, you can tap on the thumbs-up/down button to register your feedback about the generated response. "Searching for a topic you’re not familiar with? An audio overview can help you get a lay of the land, offering a convenient, hands-free way to absorb information whether you're multitasking or simply prefer an audio experience," Google said in a blog post. Google added that it would also display related web links within the audio player interface on its search results page to explore a particular topic more. You can try out Audio Overviews in Google Search by opting in to the experiment. For the uninitiated, Audio Overviews was introduced in NotebookLM last year. It offers the ability to create AI-generated podcasts and audio summaries from information sources, including written content, audio files, and YouTube videos. It features multiple AI voices or hosts who explain things in a conversational, natural-sounding way, as if two people are discussing a topic. Audio Overviews in NotebookLM also added support for more than 50 new languages and made its way to the Gemini app earlier this year. At I/O 2025, the search giant added length customization options, allowing users to change the length of their AI podcasts.
