Hello everybody.

I hope i get some help here.

I changed all the fonts to Arial. Looks much better for me.

But here are still some fonts in the OS which i was unable to change them.

How can i set everything to Arial ?

In this link you'll see that in Everest the fonts are not Arial.

Same when i move arround the mouse cursor over the tray icons ( day, month letters )

Check the pics, please :

Thanks in advance.

PS : i use Cleartype, but all i want is to "disable" this Segoe UI fonts

Arial? Seriously? Arial is like, the new Comic Sans.

Sans the Comic.

Wow, there's people out there who would GIMP Windows 7 this badly? What is wrong with cleartype? Turning off cleartype makes fonts look all jaggy and pixellated like in Windows 95. Also, Segoe UI is a wonderful font. What on earth would drag you back down to ........ Tahoma? Especially with cleartype disabled. Just get used to it, Windows 7 has Aero, it has Segoe UI,

Seriously, disabling cleartype in Aero? Are you out of your mind? Good lord.

Anyone who loves Tahoma needs to be taken outside and shot......... repeatedly!!!!!!!

Same with Comic Sans!!!!!!

As for Cleartype, never had a problem with it, although tbh, on some monitors, LCD and CRT it does look awful. But switching the font back to Tahoma is just wrong.

Nice "stop liking what i don't like" mentality. I've always been very fond of Tahoma without Cleartype, and ever since the first visual styles editor came for Vista, i've replaced my Segoe ui with Tahoma completely. Same did i with Windows 7.

Feels good man.

Megaupload, the site on which I was hosting Windows Aero (Tahoma Font), has been taken down by the US government. You can read more about it here: http://techland.time.com/2012/01/19/feds-shut-down-megaupload-com-file-sharing-website/. Unfortunately Neowin will no longer let me edit my original post, so I'm posting the new download links in this reply.

Thank you Eric! This is the best tool for Win 7! I have spent so far two weeks to eliminate Segoe UI without luck, but finally i found your comment!

On the other i would like to ask you to make an update  . Tahoma at 8pt on a 22" LCD (full HD) is too small. Is it possible to change all Tahoma from 8pt to 10pt? I prefer manual install, maybe it helps you! Please make a Tahoma 10pt version also!

I'm sorry to bump this but for some reason  after more than a year of using it, maybe due to some critical update to Windows7, the original file no longer works. The system considers aero is 'disabled' if said msstyle file is in use. When i put back the original file, i have full Aero back.

Try installing this: http://www.syssel.net/hoefs/software_uxtheme.php?lang=en

After that try to apply the theme again ;)

    • No updated SSD capacity, no updated specs (not surprised tbf), just nostalgia baiting! Bring back the boot sequence and the UI as an easter egg!
    • Why? It will just cost so much more and make you PC poor and they become PC rich off your calamities! “Just because you can” isn’t a flex either!.
    • Microsoft confirms a new, useful Teams' app is coming very soon by Sayan Sen In the modern digital workspace meeting recordings and summaries are very commonplace, still finding the right recap later can be surprisingly difficult. To address that inconvenience Microsoft is working on a new dedicated meeting recap application designed to bring all meeting recaps into a single, centralized location. In a recent announcement on its Microsoft 365 roadmap website, the company has confirmed the new applet and has explained how the new experience will work and why it believes it can help users stay on top of discussions without having to search through multiple chats, calendars, or files. For those unfamiliar, meeting recaps provide a summary of key discussions, decisions, action items, and other relevant information generated after a meeting ends. They are intended to help participants revisit important points while also allowing those who missed the meeting to quickly catch up on what happened. Traditionally locating older recaps could require users to navigate through various conversations or meeting histories. The new meeting recap app aims to simplify that process by gathering all available recaps into one dedicated hub. According to Microsoft, this should make it easier to browse past meetings, review outcomes, and stay informed about ongoing projects and discussions. One notable feature of the applet is the addition of quick filters which are meant to allow users to instantly narrow down the list of available recaps and surface specific meetings without manually searching through extensive records. Audio recap is also there. If you're wondering how long these recaps will last before self-expiring, the app will provide access to meeting recaps from the past 30 days or approximately one month. You can view the feature entry here on the official Microsoft 365 (M365) website under roadmap ID 564614. Its rollout is set to begin this month (June 2026). Do keep in mind though that new feature rollouts often get delayed.
    • Does it have couch co-op is the question I have here.
