Best program to use to create a A1 poster?

Question

For some University work, I'm asked to do a A1 poster presentation. What would be the best program to use to create it on a A1 sheet? I was thinking Publisher, but I've never used it before. The University suggested Powerpoint, but I don't know how you would do that. Any help?

PS - Never used Photoshop as well. I've used Microsoft Visio before though.

Depends on what you want your poster to look like. Professionally, InDesign is usually used for stuff like that, coupled with other Adobe programs like Photoshop and Illustrator.

As an amateur, you can go with Powerpoint. It's mostly vector graphics anyway (although again this depends on what your poster will be like), so they'll scale fine.

Publisher's actually pretty decent for the "non professional". Quite a lot of flexibility, and chances are you already have it; good enough for the one time project. If this is something you're going to do a lot of though, then yes you'll want something better. As Noroom mentioned, InDesign, along with Photoshop and Illustrator is a good call for this.

This "showstopper" bug/issue is still present for Dev 26200.5651, so NOT QUITE the June 2025 Snapshot for 26200 release but I think we are close to that release so should be within the next couple releases!
