DirectX is the most powerful API for games and the one that game developers are most familiar with.

There are already many slimmed down versions of Windows 10 and 11 out there and none of them have proven to be as good for gaming as the HOME version.
Makes you wonder how all those unfortunate Windows 10 users that had modern standby supported laptops ever survived the device encryption that was automatically enforced.
The only thing that has changed is that the practice that's been in place for over a decade has moved to desktops.
