Processor board ID JAD05090Q2B (1991323652)

1 Serial network interface(s)

4 Low-speed serial(sync/async) network interface(s)

32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.

16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

what do i need to get this thing working with the latest and greatest ios with security features?

You'd need a DRAM and CF upgrade to be honest...

the min RAM for the newest IOS for this router (the security set K9 IOS set) is 48Mb with the TeleCo IOS requiring 64Mb DRAM and 16Mb CF - the only one requiring 32Mb Flash is the IP PLUS but you want a K9 with the IPS/IDS etc...

good luck :)

i think one of my instructors dislike for software emulation of IOS has rubbed off on me lol

i've been using gns3 here and there lol it's been okay so far but man, i wouldn't mind a shiny new router or two around here to brighten up my room :p

You mean to deafen you on boot :D

I like GNS 3 it is handy to have on a laptop and you can create some good setups with it. Blindhog is a good source for GNS3 type things I have found

I do personally prefer the touch and feel of a good piece of hardware however
