Should be 3-2. They probably shouldn't continue saying that refs name on TV for his own safety. There are people far more into this than I that would actually do something about it.

haha please, you guys don't know anything about football or football riots. :p

Ehh, not a big deal. There are many, many bad calls in sports all the time.

An ump just cost someone a perfect game a couple of weeks ago on an awful call. Hes not dead.

USA obviously proved they deserve to be there more than Slovenia. Call me what you, but we had more possession, our chances were they - they got lucky overall. Great first strike by

Slovenia but overall USA showed much more today to deserve the win, the 3 points, and a bit of respect. Terrible call.

USA public, welcome to the world of football! Teams and countries have to live with these mistakes, nothing will be done afterwards, you'll be lucky to get an apology from the ref.

We have baseball. The epitome of bad officiating.

If I'm doing my math correctly, England wins both of its two games and USA beats Algeria, and both US and England advance, correct?

welcome to the real sports world where everything high in statistics don't always translate to win.

SVN had 49% possession to USA's 51%

SVN is ranked 25th, USA is ranked 14th

SVN commited 15 fouls with 4 yellow cards, to USA's 18 fouls with 1 yellow card.

Amazing how the team that doesn't win / draws (though American newspapers somehow seem to think that a draw = win), always blames the ref, the ball, claims the other team got lucky eh?

Otherwise, great game by both teams and quite an amazing comeback for USA.

No way.

Basketball has the worst...

The NBA isn't a sport. Its a glorified exhibition.

College Basketball officiating is generally pretty good.

The call in the box was dreadful, you can't deny that.

USA newspapers aren't retarded. I assume you mean the headline from the USA v England game...they were just referring to the fact that England was heavily favored and we were able to draw.

The call in the box was dreadful, you can't deny that.

I dunno, from what I was seeing it looked like the whistle got blown before the ball passed the line. Could it have been a bad / unlucky call? Certainly, but they do happen all the time.

However, the ref's decision is final.

Football (soccer) doesn't seem to use technology as much as other sports do, and I really hope in the future they go invest more in it since it will only make referee decisions more accurate and fair.

USA newspapers aren't retarded.

Didn't say that now did I? But a draw is still not a win, regardless of how favored one team is. It was an exaggeration and thats that.

Statistics != win. Uruguay beat South Africa 3 - 0, yet Uruguay had 49% of the possession vs. RSA's 51%.

Thats the beauty of football....it's not about statistics!

Oh totally, this world cup has been nothing but proof of that. But I was just referring to Alladaskill's point about USA deserving to win, and SVN being lucky.

From what it looked like, both teams were pretty even and both played well. USA's comeback was certainly impressive, probably even the best in the 2010WC so far, but that doesn't mean SVN's play was just pure luck.

    • They already threw the Ultra 1st gen under the bus?
    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
