Where is the F1 series you mentioned? wink.gif

I think you're going a bit cuckoo over there. No one mentioned an F1 series. All that will be in GT5 is a few F1 cars. Remember, we have an actual F1 game coming out this month. They're not going to have the official game come out, and then put the entire series in another game two months later.

I think you're going a bit cuckoo over there.

Let's keep the personal attacks out of this thread please. Until then, I won't reply to your posts. Thanks.

This would be sweet!

From the video description:

A prototype Gran Turismo 5 trailer designed for British TV screens in October 2010. This was created by a friend of mine who works at Saatchi & Saatchi and sent to me on 3rd September. It was revealed as a leaked GT5 trailer. After some questioning it has now become apparent this is NOT the final TV trailer. The final version will be heavily edited, this was in fact simply a concept version. Expect the final advertisement to come complete with new footage.

New damage screenshots!

These screens come courtesy of two GTPlanet members from the Best Buy demo. One of the members said he'll go back later and take better pictures with a digital camera. He said he might even take his Canon EOS 5D Mark II, but he doesn't want to attract attention. :p

Amazon are being cheeky. When you pre-order something, you expect it to get to you by the release date. If you're not guaranteed it, cancel your order and order it somewhere else, which is what I'd do if I pre-ordered with Amazon. It's $60, which is where everyone else will be charging, although someone may charge a bit less.

Speaking of which, I'm starting to regret cancelling my pre-order with ShopTo ages ago, as I had it for ?32 back then, and now they're charging ?38. Nevertheless, I shall remain a tight git and buy it when it gets cheap. :p

BTW, if anyone still wants to pre-order it in the UK, Coolshop is the cheapest place I've found so far, at ?36.99.

EDIT2: The only good thing for me is my copy will ship to arrive on 1/11/2010 (3 days before the official Australian release date of Nov 4) - with EB Games, they are fantastic at delivering on time! (even early sometimes, my Xbox 360S arrived a day before it was officially released!)

So not fair, here in Australia the standard edition of GT5 is costing me AUD$118* (~USD$108 / ~GBP£70) highway robbery! (and you can see why I'm not bothering for the signature edition, that is AUD$299!!). Don't get me wrong, this is one of the few games worth the steep RRP here in Australia but it still makes you feel sick knowing your counterparts overseas are paying almost half price for the same thing!

* = That is just the game, my copy is costing me more as you gotta factor in delivery and I took out delivery insurance as well (might as well, the game costs a fortune!).

:o My god. I just saw what AUD$118 is in GBP; ?70! I can see why Yahtzee was complaining now! And I thought we had it bad!

Yeah, we get it bad when it comes to games....some places have it going for just under AUD$100 (I think JB-HiFi has it for ~AUD$98) but I have bad experience with them, so I decided to go with EB Games and their higher price. Sure it's costing me $20+ more but EB don't screw you around and they deliver on time (and sometimes even earlier) every time :) and provide delivery insurance! which is handy.

    • No Steam release. It's gonna fail on PC. Even an Epic Online engineer said that people go there for the free stuff and then immediately go back to Steam.
    • Nice. Admittedly, his other games never interested me, but this seems pretty cool.
    • It's time to say goodbye to Edge and switch back to Firefox. There's no way to disable the ugly rounded corners that appear everywhere. Not even on the page frame. No one uses screens with rounded corners, you idiots.
    • Being on Github makes it more trustable since I can see the code at any point.
    • Gen Atlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, this time with giant robots by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The mind behind widely well-received games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, showed up at Summer Game Fest today, and that was to reveal his latest project. Being developed by genDESIGN, Gen Atlas is incoming with what looks to be plenty of mech and robot action. Watch the reveal trailer, which makes not much sense, above. The game will have players waking up on an abandoned planet where deserted facilities and grand designs from the original creators remain. Soon, they will stumble upon a colossal robot, from which players gain access to the power to change the world. "Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more," adds the studio. The gameplay snippets seen in the trailer show the player character climbing giant robots (as expected from the creator), while also controlling these titans somehow as well. This is a fully single-player open-world adventure. “The team and I are grateful to all the fans who’ve been eager to learn more about our game,” says Fumito Ueda, CEO and creative director of genDESIGN. “Their passion and enthusiasm has always motivated and inspired us. We hope to share an experience that inspires moments of quiet wonder and discovery.” Before gaining the name Gen Atlas, Ueda first announced this project back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. Interestingly, this will be a project being funded and published by Epic Games, which should mean that a Steam release is out of the question. Gen Atlas will be releasing on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced just yet.
