full damage in arcade from the start...i think theres some at lv.10 and full at lv.40 but i could be mistaken. it was mentioned a couple (man) pages back in this thread

shadows really disappoint me each time i start a race, that and the tearing, so much tearing

There's no damage in arcade for me either, where's the option to turn it on? I've looked through the menus, but obviously not looked hard enough.

Maybe it's car-related? I let my friend loose in arcade mode with my Ferrari and she totally smashed it up. Much more damage than I've seen in GT Mode (although I've never driven it quite that badly :D). Anyway, the car was even pulling to one side down the straight, so damage is definitely in there, just can't seem to pin it down because (not being big-headed) I don't tend to smash the cars up. It's a racing sim after all, not a demolition derby.

I used the Zonda, crashed into a wall exceeding 200MPH and it was totally fine...I suppose I can't really say anything about GT Mode because I never crash in there. It's just really irritating me though that there's no damage.

You say that, but it is in there ;) Maybe its because you haven't levelled-up far enough yet? I'm sure I read somewhere that it may be level-related as a concession to the car manufacturers who didn't want pictures and videos of their cars smashed up during the hype of the game's release. You have to put the time in, to "unlock" it. Maybe, I dunno. And I haven't got a source for that so I could very well be wrong.

I'm currently at level 7 but I don't drive into walls at high speeds on GT Mode so I can't measure the damage effects there. I'll have another look at Arcade mode again but there wasn't any damage last time I played.

I'm also looking for some wheels, preferably in the ?50-?90 range, relatively small. Any suggestions?

Logitech Driving Force GT. There's nothing better in that price range. :) The cheapest at the moment is, I think, ?80, but I got mine for ?70, thanks to a GAME discount code from AbandonedTrolley. :p

Thanks, there might be some offers on after Christmas so I'll have a lookie then. I also saw the Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience, though it is pretty cheap so I'm guessing it isn't as good as the Logitech one.

Corrrect. :p The pedals on that one use rubber grips, which from what I've read, are alright on flat floors, but completely useless on carpets; just like a Guitar Hero drum pedal is.

I'm at whits end now...how the fudge do normal people do the NASCAR special events? I managed to get to the intermediate ones and hit a brick wall at the outside driving events  You only need to be a few pixels from the cones to be disqualified (i.e. you don't even need to touch them) and the car is drawn to the outside wall like a damn magnet (while that doesn't disqualify you, it scrubs off alot of speed); so I either try to avoid the wall and get disqualified for being too close to the cones and when I try to avoid the cones end up slamming into the wall and not making it to the finish line in time. I'm using my Dualshock 3 for this, I do have a wheel but it's an older Logitech Driving Force and is actually worse then the Dualshock due to it's lack of sensitivity (it's fine for racing but anything that requires precision, Dualshock is better).

I'm aware I suck so no need to tell me that :p but anyone got some tips for these events? be much appreciated! Thanks.

EDIT2: Nevermind my Rally Special Event rant, I just suck :p managed to get Bronze, this game is definitely not for the casual gamer :p it seems to be hardcore or go home. However, still managing to enjoy it though :) despite the endless frustration, the rare victory I get (even if it's just a bronze) feels that more special

Wow, the B-Spec AI sucks so badly! I'm trying to get it to do the pick-up truck championship. It would only win the Laguna Seca race once I gave the truck nearly 100 BHP more than the next best opponent, even though my truck was several hundred kilos lighter. And they are utterly hopeless on speedways! As soon as they get close to opponent, they don't overtake like a normal person would do, they hit the brakes! And even worse, they always brake going into the banked corners. They're agonisingly bad!

*facepalm* I'm watching one of my drivers fail hopelessly on a Beginner race on Autumn Ring in a Corvette C2. He always brakes hard before entering the corners, but as soon as he gets into them, he adopts the Jeremy Clarkson method:

The B-spec drivers are hopeless in the Corvette's... Although I did notice an improvement after doing some grinding in other races to get their own experience up. I get the impression that a fast car isn't the best idea until they have enough experience to handle it.

The problem with the B-Spec drivers though is that they're hopeless at competing if you give them a car that's equal to the best in the pack or slightly better, so you have to give them really fast cars so they stand a chance. One of my drivers is starting to get the hand of it. He's in the FR Championship, where the best possible opponent will be in an M3, and I've got him driving the Lexus IS F Racing Concept that Killa Aaron gave me. :p He just finished 1st, 11.388 seconds ahead of the next driver after 6 laps at Tsukuba. :)

You can use my truck, it's unstoppable.

I'm level 25 A-spec and B-spec, yet I got pop-ups for:

- rally events for getting to level 15

- a new prize car (Mercedes 190E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91)

- new tracks (N?rburgring versions for beating AMG stuff)

So I guess it adds/changes the unlockables of some events and you'll get them as soon as you load the game after the patch.

Second thing you'll notice... New stuff on the GTLife screen:

- "Seasonal Events"

- "Online Collector's Dealership"

Unfortunately, I can't access them because of server maintenance.

Rekktify from GTplanet mentions that one of the new things that the patch adds is a Ferrari F1 championship series.

so far...

    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.

So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep.
