A new video of the Kinect-controlled 360 dashboard has popped up, explaining how it?ll all work.

The video starts with Microsoft?s Scott Hinsen demonstrating the device.

He waves at the camera until it recognises him, then once the dash appears he explains how voice commands and gestures work when using Kinect.

Throughout the video, Hinsen shows how Kinect works with Zune Marketplace to pause and rewind movies, as well as how it works with your own music.

It seem perfect for people who keep losing the remote down the back of the sofa.

Kinect is due for release in November.

Thanks 1UP.

^ don't think we're watching the same video, looked really responsive to me. It even understood when he switched hands without slowing at the start of the video.

The cursor snaps to the controls your hand moves towards too which saves time (Y)

Ya, it moves as fast as he moves his hands, AND it shows you can use both hands because he does switch in the middle and it shows two coursers actually. Besides, if moving your hands is too much for you then just give it a voice command, done.

The last bit that I hope they can do before it ships is have to tied to whatever user account is logged in as far as voice goes, so it won't just take commands from anyone in the room like it seems to do atm. I think they'll work that out by Nov though, it has to be on their list.

Seems more responsive than when presented in E3. Then again, no one's dancing or jumping around. Dude's just standing there ever so stiff and still there's noticeable lag. As long as you dont move your arms faster than my 90yr old grandmother, you should be good.

Oops at it failing to recognize 'Xbox Zune Marketplace' and keywords popped back up instead. If these are the video highlights then I'm still not impressed. Give me a controller and watch me leave this guy in the dust.

Nice, thanks for posting those.

Are teen accounts new or have they been around for a while? Wondering if they are part of the new family pack changes too.

Shameful nitpicking....annoys me how on the horizontal pane everything starts with a capital but vertical they are all lower case (except for Xbox).

The pictures are from a preview (on Kotaku) of the Family Center and Family Pack coming to Xbox Live, so I think that's why they're labeled as teen accounts. I'm not entirely sure if they're new or not.

Regan is a unisex name in the U.S. I know a girl named Regan.

More importantly, and has this been announced yet.

but according to that they're adding family gold accounts, I haven't heard anything about it yet, but it's not something I'd probably see anyway. sounds like it'd be a good feature removing the need for families to have multiple gold subs. or even roommates possibly.

looks really nice and responsive to me, I've gotta say I'm looking forward to the voice and jesture control more than the gaming aspect of it lol, tho I don't think I can justify spending ?129 just to talk to my xbox.

Yup, it's been officially announced, and yes, that's what the screenshot is of.

    • Thanks, Sony and Nintendo, you effectively killed platform-agnostic gaming. Long gone are the days when you could wish to play a specific game on whatever platform you were. Now, you have to buy the hardware just to play that single game. What, you're only interested in THAT game and nothing more? Bad luck, suck it and buy our console.
    • The AI data centers need it more than us so...let them gobble it all up at that price!
    • "CRAZIER than ever!" Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially coming soon by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Sega announced it is working on bringing back some of its classic franchises in 2023, and while it has taken some time, the company finally gave fans a look at one of these new projects at the Xbox Games Showcase today, which turned out to be a brand-new Crazy Taxi entry. Watch the debut trailer above, which has snippets of gameplay in between the cinematic bits while blasting a track from The Offspring. Dubbed Crazy Taxi World Tour, this installment is aptly being described as being "CRAZIER than ever!" The director behind the original, Kenji Kanno, is helming this new entry as well, which will come with access to five new cities to drive in, competitive multiplayer modes, a vehicle customization system, and more. Axel is returning as a protagonist as well, but this time a mystery driver is offering him the opportunity to take his adventures to the streets in other countries. This will involve Axel chasing down masked villains that have somehow stolen his taxi, which means even more extreme missions and challenges to overcome. "From transporting passengers at top speed to tackling unique side missions and odd jobs across dynamic maps, there are countless ways to drive crazy and rake in big money," says Sega about this new installment after over 20 years. "Perform outrageous drifts, catch insane air, and drive at crazy speeds across five different cities as you work to deliver passengers and complete a variety of missions and challenges." The studio has even confirmed an in-game Arcade Mode that players will be able to access containing the original games for plenty of nostalgic action. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is currently slated to release sometime in 2027 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
    • This and Crazy Taxi are the two games that interested me the most from this showcase.
